I stopped and felt a sudden chill throughout my body when Nathan suddenly yelled at me. It felt like I was hit with a hammer in my head and heart because I clearly saw the irritation in his eyes.
“Can we not do this now?! I'm not in the mood to talk. I hope you understand. I have a lot on my mind.” He shouted at me again, then turned away. He rubbed his temples, and I could hear him exhale violently even though I was still behind him.
I couldn't respond immediately. Meanwhile, I felt tears welling up at the corners of my eyes. I didn't know how I should react. Should I be angry? Should I be sad? Should I insist on talking to him? I don't know. I don't know what to prioritize. Eventually, without realizing it, I slowly stepped back.
“F-fine… I'll let you be.” Those were the only words
