I caught my breath when he uttered those words. I knew he wasn't addressing it to me but to his child, yet my heart couldn't help but pound loudly and beat rapidly. I swallowed hard as he rose from his kneeling position and faced me.
"I can't wait for you to bring our child into the world."
There he goes again, saying "our" child. I couldn't help but think of various things from the simple words he uttered. My belly hasn't grown much yet since I found out I'm pregnant a few weeks ago, but it's evident in his eyes that he's excited.
I gasped as he caught my hand, kissing the back of my palm, which quickened my heartbeat and surprised me at the same time. I took a deep breath as he slowly drew closer, caressing my cheeks.
