A Rare Kiss Volume 1

Chapter 4

The light of the sun early in the morning, reflects inside the house of Nadia. She was on her room, covering herself with a blanket. And she doesn’t even going out from her room or having her meals. She is just upset, depressed, and sad about what happened in the surgery last two days. She can’t imagine that the patient that she is trying is save is now dead and soulless. She wasn’t accused for what happened because it’s already accept to her family on what might happen to her after the surgery since it is too complicated illness. And it is not an intention as well. She keep on crying all day, all night and almost every day. Still her friends and Kurt didn’t know what happened to her. They keep on calling to Nadia but she doesn’t answered it all. She let her sitter to have some vacation, so that no one can disturb her. Her house was covered by sorrow and agony for the disappearance of her patient and a friend. She lost everything. She committed five days absents on her work.

Kurt was on her way going out finding some refreshments. He already know on what happened to the surgery. He know that Nadia was not able to save the patient’s life. But he still trust her that she can save his father and as what happened last time will not happen to them. He went to a bar where he can express his sadness and feelings. He always remember how Nadia shut him out last time. “You need to go out and don’t disturb me.” Nadia’s rejection didn’t erase on his mind. He always think of it too badly.

He consume four glasses of wine. But still it doesn’t affected on his ego. He just watch, looked and stared everyone who are dancing and rejoicing together with a disco music. Too loud and noisy inside since everyone are shouting together with a beat of a loud music. When he have a glance around him, he saw Nadia dancing on the corner. Since he is not drunk this time though he drink four glasses of wine, he come near with Nadia who is drunk while keep on dancing lousy.

He hugged her to stop from dancing lusty. But Nadia keep on punching him, to let her on dancing. But Kurt hug her tightly and have her to seat. “How dare you to stop me.” Nadia get mad. Her sight get blurred and she didn’t recognize Kurt right now. “Who are you?”

“We need to go home right now.” Kurt keep on blocking Nadia.

“I don’t want. I want to dance and forget everything which I am dumb and dull and I was not able to help someone especially I love most.” Nadia shed her tears. She cried like a baby.

“We need to go home.” Kurt carried her going out from the bar while Nadia keep on punching him to let her go. But Kurt didn’t let it happen. He bring Nadia into his car. He will going to take drive Nadia going home since she can’t drive on her own because she get drunk too much.

While they are on their way, Nadia keep on complaining and murmuring. “Who are you by the way?” Nadia asked.

“Kurt Joaquin.”

“Kurt? Huh. I don’t know you! Kindly, stay away from me. Maybe you have an intention? No, don’t do this to me. I don’t want to die. Please, if you will going to r**e me, please not this time. I’m going to save more life.” Nadia cried.

“Hahaha…Insane. Please, you’re too noisy.” He laughed.

“Please, let me out of here.” She shouted while crying.

“Shut your mouth or else I’m going to throw you out.”

“Please.”

“Shut up. Or else I’m going to r**e you if you will not shut your mouth.”

Nadia stop and keep on buttering. She force herself to stop herself from complaining and shouting. But it was just a joke for Kurt, just to stop Nadia from being noise. Nadia fall asleep while Kurt drive seriously.

Kurt want to asked Nadia’s house but he did not do it instead because Nadia sleep tiredly and he don’t want to disturb her. He just arrive into his home. Maybe it is not bad for Nadia, since he will not do anything bad to her. And he don’t have any intention that can hurt Nadia. He already treated Nadia as his friend after he know her.

Kurt carried Nadia, going inside into his house. Then, he put Nadia on his couch, he will just going to prepare the bed for Nadia, so she can sleep sweetly and smoothly. But Nadia, hold his hand and stand on his front. And Kurt surprised about it. Nadia, raise her face to Kurt and kiss it. Kurt can’t imagine, he can’t move like he is freezing. Everything around him goes crazy, and horny but not in a bad way. It was his first time when Nadia kiss him. And Nadia’s kiss is different from the other he experienced. He won’t let it lost. So he pulled Nadia into his chest, put his hand on her waist and kiss her tightly, sweetly and deeply.

The night become an intrigue scene. Since no one is around, no one can disturb them. But the scene happen this night is not worse and only kissing scene. Since Kurt promise to himself and to Nadia that he don’t have any bad intention. A Rare Kiss that Nadia and Kurt experienced along on their life. A bid differences from others they have kissed with. Only Kurt made Nadia comfortable and only Nadia that made Kurt to love again after he get broke.

After the scene, Nadia fall asleep on his shoulder so he bring it into his room. He settle down Nadia on his bed before he leave and went to his couch to sleep. He sleep on the living room while Nadia is on his bedroom. But Kurt, can’t sleep on what happened. He keep on staring at the ceiling and imagining what might the reaction of Nadia tomorrow if she will know that they have kissed. And he feel ashamed this time even though Nadia get drunk and can’t recognized him easily. He keep on biting her nails and thinking of what he will going to do tomorrow. It is a big sh*t! She’s driving me crazy.

Nadia woke up with a sudden pained she feel on her neck and spine. She stood up and stretch it out, and make a relief. Her eyes get widened when she realized that she is not on her room. And she get annoyed. She take a glance around her. She get confused. She tapped her forehead tightly and regretting why she is here this morning. She scream but not too loud.

The door open, and here Kurt show himself after the door. Nadia surprised as what she see. She feel ashamed when Kurt reveal in her front. She covered her eyes not to see it. But Kurt just glared and smiled at her. “You have to take your breakfast and I will be waiting downstairs. Fix yourself before you will go out. You’re a mess.” Kurt said and close the door back.

“s**t—

She fix herself and leaving out the room. She never clean the bed that she made a mess. She’s mad this time. Going downstairs, her face doesn’t show her true angle. Her face look like she want to eat human. She approach Kurt and punch it on the chest like she’s regretting.

“Why I am here? Did you bring me here? Or you did your bad intention right on me.” she shouted.

“No. I bring you here in my house since I don’t know where you lived. You should thank of me because I never let you last night.” Kurt shouted back.

“What? What happened to me last night?” Nadia becomes curious.

“You drink too much and was not able to stand on your own. You’re careless last night.”

“Then? Did I asked you to care of me? Why you didn’t leave that time?” She’s getting competitive this time like she’s trying to defend herself as a careless woman.

“Maybe last night something bad happened to you if I am not with you. Actually, last night when I watch you keep on dancing, there’s a man who has an intention on you. That is why, I get you and pretend that I am your boyfriend so they can’t react.” Kurt went into the table, get his coffee and sip it.

“You should let me.” she shouted again and it made Kurt become irritated.

“You kissed me last night.” Kurt replied frankly.

“What?” Nadia feel ashamed right now. She can’t settle down herself after Kurt told her that she kiss him. “Did I kissed you last night?” Nadia added. This time she’s calming down because she feel ashamed right now. She realized how stupid she is after she get drunk and being careless. The more she regret this time.

“You pulled me and kiss me.”

“Why you didn’t stopped me? You’re a pervert.” Nadia keep on complaining until she become mad again.

“Why I’m going to stop you? I’m a man. Why not? You kiss me first and then I endure it after.” Kurt smiled pervert.

“You jerk.” Nadia keep on punching Kurt. And Kurt always covered himself out from Nadia’s punch. Kurt run out from Nadia but Nadia followed him. That’s why they keep on running inside the house. Nadia keep on running after Kurt.

Unfortunately, Nadia didn’t catch Kurt. She seated on the couch and take deep breathe since she is tired catching him. She get her phone on her pocket since someone’s calling her. She answered—

“Hello?”

“Nadia, I’m the mother of your patient. I’m going to invite you to attend the burial of my daughter.”

“Oh sure! When is that?”

“Today!”

“Okay, I’m on my way—

She get her small sling bag on the couch and hang it on her shoulder. “Where are you going?” Kurt asked.

“I’m going to attend the burial, today.”

“Oh, right! I’m coming with you. Since you wasn’t able to bring your car last night.”

“Geez. I’m going to punch you again after or buried you there.”

Kurt drive for her to the cemetery where the burial. It take thirty minutes before they come. The cemetery is crowded who attend the burial. Nadia just wear her casual attire but not a big deal for her since it fit on the event. Then Kurt just wear her pants and turtle-neck shirt black. He looks more handsome and gorgeous this time. But Nadia never appreciate it. Others are watching them both walking to the coffin and others are keep on murmuring. Nadia heard it all but she just ignore it. She’s the doctor who perform the surgery, right? And was not able to save it because she is weak. Nadia heard it to the woman behind her but she never compete.

She cried when she see her patient inside the coffin soulless body wearing with gown, even if she is already dead still the smile is on her face. Nadia regret everything. She keep on thinking that she wasn’t able to save her patient. She is a good doctor, and she know that. But because of being careless, she killed someone. Kurt approach and hugged her to calm down, and bring her to have a sit. They occupied the chair beside the mother of the soulless body.

“Nadia, you should remember that it was not your fault. And it is not your intention.” Kurt said, and pulled Nadia down on his chest.

“But I promised myself and to her that I’m going to save her.” Nadia keep on crying.

“You stop thinking of it.” The mother insisted.

“But, I’m a liar since I didn’t fulfill my promise. Maybe she’s mad at me right now.”

“No, she’s not. We are happy because my daughter resting now from her illness. And we are very thankful of you because you even keep my daughter lived for just a short time.” The mother rub her back to calm her down. And wiped her tears.

“Mother, you should not do it.”

“Why not? Actually, when I see you, I feel that my daughter is there. Its look like you are my relief.” The mother cried. “Can I have some favor? I just want to see you every day because I remember my daughter if I see you.”

“Mother, if that is a relief. Why not?” Nadia hugged the mother.

Two days later after the burial. Kurt and Nadia meet often times especially they always meet each other in the hospital since Professor Nadia was the one who study has a responsibility to examine Kurt’s father. Kurt trusted Nadia hundred percent.

“You want some dinner, tonight?” Kurt asked. They are in the rooftop having refreshment. Since this the place where they usually visit.

“Of course!”

“Let’s just meet after work.”

“Kurt, can I ask you something?”

“What is that?”

“How many times you get broken?—

Kurt stared at Nadia seriously. “Are you serious?”

“Am I joking?” Nadia walk forward to Kurt. “I just want to know, if someday the things that I always think might happen. I just want to make sure.”

“Two times, but now I’m on a complicated relationship. Actually, I already forget her and I don’t know if she forget me already.”

“I see.”

“How about you?”

“This time I’m not in a complicated relationship. Still searching, but I want those guy who is like you.” She nodded. “Please, forget it after.” Nadia pulled Kurt into her. Then she pulled its head because she was not able to reach it since Kurt is taller than her even though she’s wearing a high heels. She directly kiss Kurt on her lips back and forth. Like this is the last time they will going to meet or someone of them will lost. Not what I mean. Kurt cherish Nadia’s kiss since it is not a bug deal for him because a woman kiss him first and not him instead. What a disgusting? Kurt pulled Nadia on him and kiss it back and forth. A beautiful day for them, since it is unforgettable moments. But after this they will going to forget that they have kiss each other. The suns bright, and their shadow reflect on the ground. All bird are chirping, cheering them. The wind touch their ears, and it cold down their face and lips. Their long nose touches each other, while closing the eyes. And of course Nadia is blushing on.

“Forget everything, and don’t use to remember it if you don’t want my punch.” Nadia smiled, and rolled her lips on her tongue.

“As your command.” Kurt smiled and then take a deep breathe like he drawn in the water.

“Let’s just pretend that we didn’t kiss.” Nadia hold Kurt’s left hand. “This would be a relief of mine. Since today was my big revelation. I am afraid and ashamed to face the crowd and all bashers. They keep on giving feedback about the incident happened last time, like I was not able to save the patient’s life.”

“Don’t be afraid, unless I am with you. I’m here to guide you. And don’t worry.”

“Can you be my friend?” Nadia held is hand for shake hands.

“Sure, friend.” They shake their hands and give their sweet and cute smiled. Kurt give his hug to Nadia.

“I have to go, since I’m going to have my research. I will just call you for a dinner.” Nadia said, and leave Kurt in the rooftop.

She’s walking while thinking on how she kiss Kurt. Yeah, she will going to forget it but she want to think for the last time. She touch her lips and keep on imaging that Kurt is still kissing her. Insane. She went to her office with a big smile on her face. It is not what you think. Actually, she is not in love. It’s just her feelings or reaction if someone kiss her.

On her room, she get her sticky note because she will going to write something. But something caught her attention, her diary under on her bed. She open it, a piece of picture falling on the floor. She get and it’s a picture with Luke and Kylie. A picture where they celebrate Luke’s birthday.

“Happy Birthday, to you!” they sing together. Luke’s birthday five years ago. They celebrated at Luke’s house. It’s Luke 18th birthday. Nadia remember on how they celebrated Luke’s birthday. Especially, these was the moment where she cried most because of giving a message for Luke but she forgot already on what she have said. “Since it’s your birthday. Hoping that our relationship as a friend will be forever.” Nadia said as her Luke’s birthday wish.

Nadia realized that today is Luke’s 26th birthday. Gosh, she forgot on her friend’s day. It’s truly, that she forgot her friend or what? She fix herself, because she will be going out to Luke’s house. She will be there to ask apologize and forgiveness after she had done two weeks ago.

She drove fast. And almost she ignoring some car passing by, and didn’t minding the traffic. She take an overtake every time when there’s a car trying to block her way.

She stopped when Luke leaving in his house, locking the gate. Nadia went out on her car and approach Luke. Luke is wearing his doctor’s suit, maybe he will go at work. Luke surprised of Nadia’s presence. He taught Nadia already forget him. “Hey, Luke. Where are you going?” Nadia asked, and feel ashamed.

“I’m going to work. Why are you here? I thought you forget me already. Since one month ago after you shut me out.” Luke simply said.

“No it doesn’t mean. I am here to ask an apology of what I have done.” Nadia walk forward in front of Luke. She hold his hand. “Luke, sorry for what I have done. I am here to ask forgiveness. It’s just because of my pride that is why I did it but it is not my intention.”

“Nadia, you know you just disturb me. I’m going to work right now.” Luke said, and open the door of his car. But Nadia stop him.

“Luke, please listen to me…..I remember that……that today is your birthday. And why you will leaving since it’s you birthday.”

“Huh? Yeah it’s my birthday but I never celebrate it all since I don’t want to recall all my past memories that I am with you.”

“Are you that mad? Luke, I am here to say sorry but you’re trying to reject me. I won’t let it happen, since I’m already here….”she hold Luke’s hand “……please let’s talk.”

“Come inside in my house. Let’s talk there.”

Luke prepare some juice and snacks for them. They spend their time in the guest room. “Luke, forget it already.” Nadia said.

“Actually, Nadia, I forgot it already but in Kylie’s case I do not know. She’s here a while ago, she asked me to have some dinner tonight.”

“Since you have some dinner this night, I’m coming with you.”

“Oh sure! So, you can able to talk with Kylie. She already shared about what you have done to her. She said you’re getting cool to her.”

“It’s just because of my depression. That’s why I want to see you and her because I want to talk to both of you. Thank you so much Luke for letting me to meet you. Happy birthday! I just want to celebrate you birthday the way we celebrated it when you’re 18. I have to go since I have my work. Let’s just meet tonight.”

Nadia open her closest to find a dress for tonight’s events, which they have a date with her friends. Her eyes opened wide when she see her favorite colored-gray shirt with a neck tie on it. She choose it and paired with black-skinny jeans and a four inches-heels. She face herself in the mirror, she put a light make up on her face, an eyeshadows, a color-browned eyeliner and a pink lipstick. After five minutes, she went out in her house and drive through the restaurant where Luke and Kylie’s waiting.

Seven o’clock in the evening she get in the restaurant. She take a glance around her to see them but on the corner near at the counter she saw Luke who is sitting alone, drinking glass of water. “Hey, Luke!” She said and sit on the right chair. “I guess you’re alone. Where is Kylie by the way?” she added.

“She’s on her way. Just drink this wine while waiting for her.” Luke give a glass of wine. Before Nadia drink it she shake it first lightly. “Hey, I’m here.” Voice of Kylie from the other side. Kylie’s wearing her jeans a polo shirts. Kylie give her smiled to Luke but she take it off when she see Nadia who is with Luke. She forced herself to sit with them.

“Kylie, how’s your day? It’s a very long time that we didn’t meet each other?” Nadia give the first talk since Kylie just ignored her.

“Good! I fine a true happiness and a freedom. Then, someone’s proposing me.” Kylie replied and show her ring finger with a colored-silver ring on it to Luke.

“Oh, you’re getting married. With whom?”

“I will just introduce him to you. Since that is my plan. And you are invited to go there as always.”

Gosh, it’s been a long minutes since Kylie ignore Nadia. She didn’t even talk to her or just asked if Nadia is okay right now or what? Just like Kylie didn’t see Nadia on the other sit. “Are you that made at me Kylie?” Nadia directly asked since Kylie didn’t talk to her.

“You asked me or Luke?” Pretending she do not know.

“It’s obvious! Kylie that is why I am here to have an apology after…..”

“Oh, thank you because you already realized that are wrong after one month. Did you have your retreat already?” Kylie inserted.

“I am not here to fight.”

“I know? Oh, Luke I need to go since everything is clear to me now. This night is crazy.” Kylie trying to leave but Luke stop her.

“Kylie, kindly settle down. How dare you to do this. You forgot already that today is my birthday.” Luke shouted, he’s getting mad this time both Nadia and Kylie. “If you will going to fight, please move it on the other day on my birthday.”

Kylie sit back as she pulled by Luke to sit down. “Water.” Luke give water to Kylie to calm her down. Kylie attitudes change already. She is not Kylie that Nadia knows. But, Nadia realized already that she is wrong that is why she front her to comfort everything but how she can do it if Kylie is being like this who is a high tempered and a pride woman.

“I accept that you will not forgive me at least I am trying to ask an apology even I feel ashamed. This time let’s just forgot it and mind Luke’s birthday.” Nadia said. And put some foods on her plate and start eating. She just ignore them on how they react. Even Kylie can’t talk after Nadia’s conclusion. Kylie eat irritatedly, like she’s still mad at Nadia.

After their dinner and celebrated Luke’s birthday. Nadia gives her present offers to Luke, a colored-blue paper bag and something inside on it and it’s a secret and only Luke can know. And its look awkward since it’s happen after five years.

Nadia was called by her co-doctor to the testing room. Today is the time to examine now the blood of Kurt’s father named Ignacio. In the testing room, Nadia get the result, her hands shaking when she start reading the result. She is shocked when the result is this—“The patient is infected by AIV.” She took a deep breath and close-opened her eyes maybe it was just a dream or a night mare but it was not. The result is real. How she can imagine the result? She already know that Ignacio is infected by AIV from animals. But how? Nadia getting curious this time. She throw the paper on the trash bin as if it was fake and leave the testing room nothing’s happened. Her co-doctor’s curious about her.

She went into room where Ignacio is. Since no one is guarding she get inside directly. But of course she wear a protected dress, face mask and hand gloves before she enter the room to avoid smelling or infection. Because Ignacio is on critical illness. And a complicated disease. Ignacio is infected by AIV from animals, and everyone didn’t know how to cure.

“How did you get this virus? In what way you get infected? AIV (AnimalsImmunoVirus) is an illness that can easy be cure. Are you that willing to die or what?” she shouted at Ignacio. Even it can talk but can heard after all. All what Nadia is said is being heard by Ignacio. Nadia is look like insane if you imagine that she talk with a man who is in critical condition. Ignacio can’t move his body, nor open his eyes, nor open his mouth.
