A PROPOSAL

666 Words
Although Capri didn't let her guards down, she relaxed a bit. “ I don't know where." It was a lie. She wanted to go see her mother and tell her what that jerk had done to her and cry her heart out next to her, in her hospital bed. But it was far, far, away and she knew not know how she could get there. “ I'm heading to Oswell." He cut through her mind. “What? Like around the hospital?" Her eyes shine bright with hope, that maybe luck was on her side this time. If she had to ride with a stranger to go see her mother, oh she would! “ Not exactly, but kind of close." “ I'm actually going there." She moved closer to him. “ Are you sure? You want to ride with me?" “ You're not going to harm me?" “ I won't. I told you that already, Cherry." His eyes fell on her hair. Capri laughed slightly. The ride was quiet. He was back into his strict faced mode and she was thinking about what to tell her mom , and Nia. Her heart hurt, the kind that caused you physical pain, she had been fooled. Only God knew for how long. As if it would make things any better, the stranger rolled down her window and when the wind came splashing across her face it did make her feel a little better. She loved the soft embrace of the universe on her skin. It made her think of the good days with Hark. When they would hang out after his rehearsals and cuddle till day break. She sighed heavily. “ Are you sure you want to go to the hospital? It's not yet visiting hours you know. Unless it's a private ward." He stated . She had not even thought about that. They were a long way from home too. " Let me take you somewhere.” Crazy . She didn't even know who he was. He could be a serial killer, a r****t or anything in this deadly world. Why the hell was she so certain he wouldn't even touch a strand of her hair. It only made her excited that his presence was comforting her. Capri relaxed into the seat of the car. She nodded as he stared, waiting for a go ahead. " Where?” " For a walk.” “ Where?" “ The field of barley." "Can I reject the proposal?" " Not at this point." He winked at her. He knew just she needed and was ready to give to her. He was slightly nervous because that was his hiding place too. A symbol of strength and peace to him, sharing it with her was calming even though he had sworn some time ago not to reveal it to anyone. But she needed it. He had heard everything that happened between her and Hark. He was a prick, simply and he would be this girl's savior. Even if it was just for the dawn. He just couldn't fathom the energy that drew him so close to her, that made him want to gather her into his arms and compose a soothing melody for her. She glanced at him and when their eyes locked for a moment, hers seemed to tell a story. Not just any story, one that had numerous chapters dedicated to pain and betrayal. But this time, it didn't look like Hark was the only source. It looked like so many sources were writing that particular chapter. She quickly looked away and let her hair cover the side of her face that he could see. Aries knew her type, girls like her were very delicate, innocent, calm and often had deep, hidden stories of pain and grief. He wanted to know more, he would know more. Maybe not now, maybe after he got back at Hark for his own personal reasons. For now he was taking her somewhere only they knew.
