Broken Trance

Sienna My back pressed hard against the bedroom wall, trapped completely beneath his massive frame as his hands locked me into place. There was no room to move, no space to slip away from the intense, suffocating heat coming off his skin. The cold laminate flooring beneath my bare feet felt miles away compared to the sudden, chaotic rush of blood roaring in my ears. I felt tiny against him, completely swallowed up by his shadow and the physical reality of his presence in my room. Every boundary I had spent the last three years establishing seemed to blur under the raw force of his touch. My relationship with Dave had been quiet, predictable, and careful. We had a routine built on safety, where every movement was familiar and gentle. Dave had never held me with this kind of unyielding, dominant force. He had never taken my breath as if it belonged to him, or made me feel like I was about to dissolve into nothing. Marcello wasn't waiting for permission; he was taking what he wanted, and a terrifying, heavy ache bloomed in the pit of my stomach because a part of me was actively stopping me from fighting back. My fingers, which should have been clawing at his face to get him away from me, curled tightly into the expensive fabric of his shirt just to keep my balance as the room spun. A low, involuntary moan escaped my lips, a helpless sound that shattered whatever pride I had left. It was a sound of complete surrender, a confession that my body was betraying everything my mind knew to be safe. The moment the sound left my throat, Marcello went completely rigid against me. His muscles locked like iron beneath my gripping fingers, his chest expanding against mine as his breathing hitched. A low, feral growl rumbled from the back of his throat, a deep sound that vibrated straight through his chest and into my ribs. The last bit of his icy restraint snapped right there. The kiss turned predatory, his mouth growing harder and more demanding as his tongue swept in to claim me completely. My head spun from the sheer intensity of the shift. He was driving me deeper into the current, consuming my breath until I couldn't think straight, his lips moved against mine with a rough, rhythmic hunger that made my knees go weak. He wasn't just kissing me anymore; he was taking ownership of the space, turning my own room into a trap where he set the rules. Then, his hand moved from my waist. His large, calloused palm slid slowly up the damp cotton of my towel, his fingers trailing a line of intense heat directly across my ribs. He didn't rush the movement, which only made the panic tighter in my chest. He charted the curve of my side, his touch heavy and possessive, until his knuckles brushed against the sensitive skin at the center of my chest—right where the edge of the towel was knotted over my breasts. He was going to pull it open. He was going to leave me completely exposed and naked in the middle of a room he had broken into, with nothing left to hide behind. My heart hammered a frantic, irregular rhythm against my ribs as his fingers hooked into the center of the knot, preparing to unravel my final defense. I could feel the rough texture of his skin against my chest, a stark reminder of who he was and what he was capable of doing. Knock. Knock. Knock. The heavy sound of knuckles hitting the bedroom door echoed through the small space, loud as a gunshot. "Sienna? Hey, you okay in there?" Roxy’s voice cut straight through the heavy haze in the room, her tone sharp and filled with a growing, nervous tension. "Sienna, seriously, answer me," Roxy called out again, her footsteps shifting against the floorboards right outside the thin door. I heard the wood creak as she leaned her weight against it, trying to catch any sound from the other side. "I haven't heard anything from your room since you came up to change, and you're starting to make me paranoid. If you don't say something in the next three seconds, I'll just barge in." The words hit me like ice water, shocking my system. The heavy, intoxicating fog evaporated in an instant, forcing me back into the reality of what was actually happening. I wasn't in some distant fantasy. I was standing in a cheap rental room, wrapped in a damp towel, letting a dangerous stranger undo me while my best friend stood less than two feet away on the other side of a thin piece of wood. A sudden, sharp panic surged through my chest, replacing the heat with pure terror. My mind raced, picturing the door swinging open, the look on Roxy's face, the absolute disaster that would follow. My hands flattened against the rigid stone of Marcello's chest, and I shoved against him with all the strength my trembling muscles had left. I twisted my head violently to the side, breaking the contact of his lips just enough to draw a ragged gasp of air into my lungs so I could answer Roxy before she turned the knob. I needed her to stay outside. I needed him away from me. "Roxy, wait…" I tried to call out, but the warning choked in my throat, coming out as nothing more than a breathless squeak. Marcello didn't back off. The sound of Roxy’s voice only seemed to make him more unyielding, his grip tightening as if the threat of being caught meant nothing to him. Before I could finish the sentence or find my voice, his fingers gripped the back of my neck with a bruising force, anchoring my head in place and cutting off my escape completely. He leaned down and deepened the kiss, his mouth slamming back onto mine with a heavy intensity that completely swallowed my voice. He drove me backward, his massive frame shifting forward until the small of my back hit the wall, knocking the remaining air from my lungs. He pinned me so securely that I couldn't shift an inch, trapping me between the drywall and the heavy lines of his body. His tongue tangled with mine, forcing me back down into the dark current I was desperate to escape. I clawed at his chest, my fingers sliding uselessly against his shirt as the terror in my veins spiked to a fever pitch. I was completely trapped, helpless against his strength while the danger outside grew by the second. He didn't care about Roxy. He didn't care about the consequences. He only cared about finishing what he started, keeping his mouth locked onto mine while my heart tried to burst from my chest. Through the roar of blood in my ears, I heard the single sound I had been praying against. The metallic rattle of the old doorknob began to turn. My eyes flew wide in the dim light, staring straight into the dark, unreadable depths of Marcello’s gaze as he continued to ruthlessly consume my mouth. He didn't flinch or pull away. His fingers only tightened against the column of my throat, leaving me completely trapped between the dominant force of his lips and the slow, agonizing twist of my doorknob.
