Thursday Morning
Guy had an early dental appointment, so Hal said he’d go in a bit early before his ten AM and cover on the off chance one of their patients might call or appear in a state of panic and need assistance.
When he arrived at work, he found Ms. Lansing already busy at her computer. He went back to his office, deposited his briefcase, and returned with an empty cup he filled from the coffee maker in a corner of the waiting room. Then he retreated to a small room off reception that housed several shelves of psychiatric texts and medical journals. There, he spent almost two hours making notes on a legal pad, theorizing and woolgathering—two of his favorite activities.
