Chapter 13: Ta Matete The first thing Hilary did was change out of her traveling clothes. She emerged, from the bathroom in corduroy pants, a heavier sweater, and into what her roommate, Jennie Travers, called a turret. The rounded glass windows gave an almost three sixty degree view of the lake and the towering Sierras. “We’re the only couple here with windows in our room,” Hilary said. “Beautiful isn’t it?” She knew Jennie was agoraphobic. There’d been a short discussion at their first group meeting, when they went round robin, said how they were doing, talked about what brought them to therapy, and whatever else popped into their heads.
