Amelia's POV I could see he was battling for air, his legs kicks the air as he vibrates. I tried to hold him in one position, confused over what was happening. My eyes scanned his body and I could tell he was posioned. Scared, I quickly ran out of the study room with tears, screaming for help. "Help!" I screamed, running down the hallway to get someone and i accidentally bumped into calix. It felt as though he had been waiting and I was too stunned to speak until I mustered up courage. "Calix, the alpha" I lamented rubbing my face and crying the more. His eyes widened at me as he tossed me aside and ran into the study room. I intended to follow him but then I felt someone grabbed me back, almost making me fall. It was her, Shirley. "What have you done to the alpha!" She barked, glaring into my eyes. Her eyes, spark with hate and detest. I shoved her away from me panting. I almost gave her a response when I found calix coming out from the study room. He was running with the alpha on his back, his eyes red as he was tensed. It was obvious he cried. He ran pass me as soldiers followed him. Hastily, I ran after him, perturbed by the aftermath. He took him to the royal clinic. It was just a step closer and i'd be inside but Shirley appeared before me, pushing me aside. "The alpha's killer don't deserve to be inside" she mused and ram the door at my face. The anguish I felt was overwhelming as I was stranded outside, pacing to and fro to hear the result. Quickly, I could see doctors rushing in with equipments and medical tools to begin his operation. My troubled heart tried to be stay positive not until I heard calix roar from inside. I stood rigid with terror, too overwhelmed to move. I dragged my legs to the window to have a peep. Then I saw him, Calix was so down as he growl falling on his knees and screaming to the alpha to wake up. Everyone wore a doleful gaze, the alpha was the pack's favorite and we all lost our hero. I wish to comfort him but then Shirley wasn't giving the chance to come close. She was there with him, taking my place, to console him. I could only watch from a distance as I sober. My only friend was gone. I suddenly saw calix walking towards the door which he spur open. His eyes glares at me and blood drained from my skin. He stomp closer to me, his hands trembling as he grabbed mine and stared at me straight in the eyes. "Amelia save him, I promise, i'd treat you better, please... don't let him die, you're a healer right?" He yelled, his tone low as tears choked his voice and I shivered. This was the first time he was making a sincere request to me and I was so touched that he was looking up to me. It was my chance to prove I wasn't worthless like he sees me. The sudden hope in his eyes, like he believes in me. I could feel his pain, his grief, his weak breath. Unfortunately, I couldn't do anything because I've never used my healing powers. The last time I saved the alpha, I only found him injured in the woods and called for aid. I never healed him. "Amelia! Do something!" He roared causing me to jerk, his face glistening with terror and I was speechless. Calix let go of my hand and burst in a griddy laugh. One that expressed his agony. He stuttered back, hitting his chest, trying to breath. At this rate, he might faint. I know how dear the alpha was to him. "Calix please you have to be strong!" I screamed at him, as I tried to touch but he shoved my hand away and said; "You killed him!" Shirley had gotten out of the ward, I noticed a subtle smile on her lips as she sniffed and drew closer to me. "You were the last with him which terms you the murder!" She added and I was broken. I threw my gaze at calix, even if he despises, he should know I am not capable of killing someone. "Calix, it's not true, I only went there to have a talk..." "Shut up!" He snarled, his eyes blazing red as he invoke fear inside me. Shirley drew closer to him, trying to keep him calm as he pants softly. "Take her before the court!" He ordered and almost immediately, the soldiers appeared to take me away. They were rough on me, like I was criminal. He was angry and that could cause him to make a rash decision. "Calix!" I screamed but he wasn't listening and only his glare was on me. I was brought to the court and in a short while, the elders had surface. It seems as though I was ambushed. Then I saw calix walk in with Shirley and my mouth opened in a silent scream. I tried to explain myself and then pointed out the maid who handed me the tea and when she was summoned in court, she denied knowing me. Shirley seems to be ready to attack me with crimes that I never committed which ignites more anger in calix. She claims Daniel's mysterious illness was caused by me, she claims I caused the rebels to attack him few months ago just to gain my revenge for the way I treated him. Calix looked tired of my explanation as I could see him rubbing his head with two fingers and gasping. "Torture her, that way, she'd confess" he ordered and I cried falling on my knees, begging that i was innocent. However, he turned a deaf ear to me and the soldiers dragged me to the torture house. The pain they inflicted on me was traumatizing as they stroked me with batons, electrocuted me, drowned me in freezing water yet I stood by the truth. I was brought before calix again, this time bloodied and whimpering in pain. I could sense fear in his eyes as he stared at me but he straightened up himself. "Why did you kill him!" He muttered, his cold expression never changed as he placed his hands on the arm of his sit, clinging his claws on it. I was cold, breathless and having no words to defend myself. "For once... believe...me...I never did" I whispered weakly, my eyes were dim as i could only see blurry visions. I prayed for death, that's all I could wish for because no one believes me. "For a murderer, you deserve to die!" One of the elders retorts and a sudden clamour began in the court room. I was so frustrated that I just wanted to die already because the excruciating pain was so unbearable. Calix stood up from his throne and I saw a soldier hand him a sword. He'd do it himself. Rather than using a gun at me, he'd prefer a sword. He drew the sword on the ground while marching towards where I knelt in pains. Our eyes locked as he raised it, there was never love in his eyes. Even to the very last, I was just a fool for love. My fate was sealed.
