POV: Haven
"Haven, I heard what happened. How are you feeling?" My dad came into my room. I sniffle. "I'm fine." I'm not fine. My body burns. I'm scared to go into the kitchen now. What if I run into him again? Would Raphael fire him? He should be because what he did is not OK.
Dad's face is etched full of concern. "You won't be seeing him again. Raphael had him arrested." He did? Relief fills me knowing I won't ever see him again. "Good," I whisper because my voice is hoarse due to being in so much and crying.
"Are you in any pain?" He asks. I shake my head as tears threaten my eyes. I have to lie to him even though the pain is becoming unbearable. Raphael's soothing touch was only temporary. I can't tell him about my curse and how the daughter he adopted is a freak.
