Chapter 27: Jason and The Wolves
Candy stood there and looked at Jason as he took the fabric from her. She allowed the wolf to leave, so long as it didn’t wander very far. The wolf shuffled off, between two police officers who didn’t notice it. It walked to the end of the alley between the buildings and sniffed the ground. If it found anything she needed to see, the wolf would let her know. She blinked and thought about what happened the moment she left the place where she’d been held captive all her life. The wolf told her The Shape was coming back for her, even after she hit it the way it. She didn’t know what to do that day. The sunlight hurt her eyes and the ground felt hard on her feet. She huddled down to the ground and grabbed her knees. She rocked back and forth. Even if the wolf could take care of her out here,
