I packed immediately after getting to my room and stashed the backpack under my bed. I had a suitcase packed and placed by the door just in case Olcan decided to stop by and check up on me. He'd see that I was ready to leave. I just wouldn't be leaving with him.
All that was left to do was for me to wait until midnight to meet Xavier outside, but waiting was harder than I thought it would be. I spent the time pacing back and forth in my room until I got paranoid that someone might hear me moving around and wonder why I was so excessively active late at night.
