Ruby POV:
It took a while for me to start breathing normally again. Despite wanting to calm down, I just couldn't.
Xavier sat with me while all the adrenaline inside me took it's time to return to normal.
Then I was left unable to speak. It's not that I didn't want to but...I just couldn't form any words to answer any of Xavier's or Mathieu's questions. I was still in shock.
After twenty minutes, Mathieu told us we needed to get back on the road because it would be nightfall soon and we had a good bit of traveling left. So, we all piled back into the car. We drove with a horrible silence hanging over our heads.
Natalie was still out cold, Mathieu and Xavier were busy cleaning the blood off themselves with wet wipes.
