Xavier POV:
It wasn't hard to find her. I followed her scent through the forest until I found her sitting under a tree, a curious squirrel sitting in front of her.
Ruby held her hand out and the little critter moved forward instead of away from her. She c****d her finger, her soothing voice vibrating as she tried to lure the small animal in.
It came closer and closer until it could smell the tips of her finger before running away and then back to her.
I smiled as she giggled.
The squirrel ran off when he noticed my arrival.
She sighed as she noticed me, too. She got to her feet quickly and turned, walking away.
It only took me a few long strides to catch up to her. "So," I drawled. "Are you leaving then?"
She stopped and turned to look at me, her brows furrowed with rage.
