The Demon Princess and Death

Chapter 9 Chelsea POV

Vises appeared with a crack of lighting, the huge python appeared at the top of the huge hills that were in Vax's home, coiled and ready to strike. For a moment, everyone froze. For most here, seeing such a thing was for the first time. This beast belonged to the gods' ages, not these. The loud hiss echoed through the land before it dropped and started to slither.

" EVERYONE MOVE QUICKLY, DON'T LET HIM NEAR YOU AND ATTACK FROM BEHIND " Vax hollered through Darius before he shifted to his wolf's huge form that was just as big as the snake and then counted at it.

" Darius " Anya shouted, her face petrified.

" DO AS HE SAYS " Arakas shouted before disappearing.

I looked towards Adam and my father. " Attack from the back, don't go near its face. You two concentrate on protecting everyone here who is not as equipped to deal with this " I warned.

Adam shouted my name. I felt his fear radiate through our bond. But these were beasts that Natassa knew. They were from her time. I appeared on the back of the long snake's body, by the side of Arakas. A spear appeared in both of our hands, and together we plunged them into the body of the snake. Vises recoiled. The spears could not kill the beast, but it did what we needed it to do. We switched its destination. Vises stopped and raised himself up before its big head swung our way. His big tongue flicked out and hissed down at us.

I saw Vax heading up close. Pulling out the spear, I landed it again. We needed his attention here. But Vises was not stupid. He swung back to face Vax before he could attack him unaware. Vises launched himself at Vax, knocking Ararkas, and I went flying. Before I could fall to the ground, I moved myself.

Vax jumped but Vises was trained. He was smart, and he dodged Vax and spun back around and twisted himself around Vax's big body.

He wasted no time spinning himself around Vax until Vax's wolf howled as he put on pressure. Fire flew at the snake's head. I looked to see Sophie had given her gift to Dante. He was running at the snake, while Sophie threw fireballs directed at the snake's face. I saw another blur of fire sprint past us and realized it was Sapphire. She ran at the snake in the opposite direction. Vines came up through the floor and started tangling around Vises. Hailey had her hands on the ground , the rest had somehow been equipped with weapons. They all shot towards Vises, careful not to his Vax.

I watched in awe as the council worked together like a tight until, a well-oiled machine.

" They are spectacular in battle sister. You're not alone in this fight. Put more trust in them. You don't have to feel like you are responsible for us all " Arakas said from the side of me as he watched on proudly.

I felt something in me shatter. Natassa I realized, had all the same traits as Chelsea. Too independent, takes on all the emotional responsibility. Arakas knew this.

I raised my hand and in it appeared a flaming spear , I waited until the big snakes face swung this way, and then I threw it, hitting him in the eye. The snake hissed in pain, its coils slackening, allowing Hailey to wrap her vines around it.

" That I can see , but when you have been fighting battles alone all of your life, it is hard to accept" I stated, looking at Arakas, who was watching me.

" You hate me for the rebellion ? " He asked.

" You hate me or being born with more power ? " I asked back instead of answering.

His jaw clenched, summoning up another flaming spear. I raised my body off of the ground. Raising myself up high, so I was looking down on the fight below. To my annoyance, Arakas appeared aside me with a flaming spear too. Vises released Vax, who wasted no time jumping from the big snakes' coils.

Winds started picking up around us, a wind vortex was picking up speed. But in amazement, I watched as the wind vortex wrapped itself around Vises like a barricade, then into the wind barricade walked Anya, Hailey and Sophie. Vises were reeled up looking down on the three. Lisa stood on the edge of the outside, her hands up. The three inside linked hands and all three lit on fire. They chanted and as they did the flames grew bigger. The wind vortex kept it contained, until the flames mixed in with the vortex and the space they have now created became a prison of flames Vises trapped on the inside.

"Amazing like art " Arakas grinned.

I had to agree, lowering myself down into the flames where Vises now screeched and hissed as flames licked at his skin. I felt the heat lick at my skin as flames danced around me. Looking up, I saw Arakas still watching from above. This he couldn't do. Showing mercy on the wailing snake that was being burnt alive. I lowered myself down to its heart and shoved the spear into its heart. The snake went rigid, before its large body fell backwards. The flames disappeared immediately. The wind died off. The thud of its big body echoed as it hit the ground.

Everything was silent.

Everyone shook to see what had just appeared. Lowering myself down to the girls, I looked at them all. I smiled gently. " You are all something else. He was just the beginning, unfortunately. We have more monsters to kill. Tomorrow, Arakas and I will share our knowledge of all the ones we know about. I'll send the body back to our uncle. He will not be amused. Vises had never lost a battle, and we took that away within ten minutes " I stated.

" Well Vises never came up against our girls", Cole stated.

" My uncle will have watched he is connected to each of his beasts, he will have watched through Vises's eyes. He will know the threat they are now. They will be his target. But he will need to regroup. Tonight we will be able to rest. I haven't had any other vision of who he will send next yet. " Looking around for Adam, I raised my hand out to him. My arrogant demon smirked. The next thing, we were naked on the bed. He was hovering above me, his hair now loose and curtained us like a shield from the outside world. It had grown longer since we had met.

" Where has my little mate gone that needed my protection ? Now you ar spearing beasts in the heart surrounded by fire. I remember a time when a ladder was too dangerous for you " he grinned. He dipped his head, his lips finding my neck as he left searing kisses and vicious nips.

" She is still here " I groaned, the feeling of flesh on flesh felt amazing.

" No she is not. Emotionally, my mate still needs me. Physically, you could kick my ass now. I may be arrogant, but I am not that arrogant. I am not about to start trying to prove my point that I could best you. That would just be dumb on my behalf " he hums into my neck.

I gawed at my lip. " Does it bother you ? " I worried.

He lifted his head and looked at me , his brows creasing. " Will I enjoy watching you fight beasts ? No. But if you are worried this affects my male ego ? No. Even if it ever does , the images of how many times you were hurt as a human that will forever be etched into my mind will chase it away. I am thankful you are now a badass and can kick ass " I smiled up at him at his words. His lips stretched to match my own.

" I'll always let you win an arm wrestle in public " I joked at him, and he threw his head back and laughed freely, the sound like music to me. He was mostly always serious. " Do me a favor " he said when he had done laughing. I nodded to him and his devilish smirk was back. " Make sure you always kick Davax's ass in public ". Now it was my turn to laugh. It was soon cut off though when I felt his hard member rub against my center. Replaced by a needy moan.
