Luca’s POV
I watched her sign her name, the ink barely dry before I took the contract from her hands.
Good girl, I thought to myself.
She didn’t understand what she had just done. Raven thought this was a transaction, her body for her father’s freedom. Simple.
But nothing with me was ever simple. I wasn’t just buying her womb. I was taking control of her entire life.
I closed the folder, placing it on the coffee table. “Pack your things.”
Her head snapped up. “What?”
“You are moving in with me.” Her lips parted, eyes widening in shock.
“That wasn’t part of the contract.” She protested, her eyes shooting lasers at me.
I leaned forward, my eyes locked on hers. “Did you really think I would let you carry my child while living in that shoebox of an apartment? Besides, it was stated on the second page of the contract.”
Her hands curled into fists. “I’m not a prisoner.”
I smirked. “No, you are not. But you are mine now.” Her breath hitched. I stood, towering over her, showing that that whatever I says, goes.
“You will stay here where I can keep an eye on you. You will eat what I provide, follow the doctor’s orders, and most importantly, you would not do anything reckless.”
Her jaw clenched. “And if I refuse?” I sighed, pulling out my phone. “Then I will make a call. And in less than an hour, your father will…”
“Stop.” Her voice shook.
I raised a brow. Her hands trembled as she shoved them into her coat pockets. “I will do it.”
Of course, she would. She had no choice. I nodded. “Good. You have one hour to pack. Matteo will drive you back to your apartment. I doubt you would be needing any of your old stuff here, but do you."
She swallowed. “And my bakery?”
“It stays open. You will go in when I say you can. Any misconduct from you, and I will have it shut down.”
She let out a bitter laugh. “Of course.”
I ignored her tone. She could hate me all she wants, as long as she obeyed my instructions, we will be fine. I walked to the elevator, pausing as the doors slid open. “Don’t be late, Raven.”
She didn’t respond. But I knew she would be back. She needs help for her father and she had just signed herself away. There was no escaping me now.
I stood by the window of my penthouse, watching the city lights. Snow fell thick and fast, covering the streets in white. Christmas was only days away. The world was celebrating. I wasn’t. I had no time for festivities, no patience for holiday cheer. The only thing that mattered to me was securing my future. And Raven was now a part of that. I don't care if she hates me.
My phone dinged on the table, momentarily pulling my eyes away from the view.
'She is ready, boss.' I read Matteo's text, before dropping the phone back on the table, my gaze down back on the snow-covered city below. The world moved on, oblivious. But at this moment, only one thing mattered to me.
An heir.
Not just any child but my child. My blood. Someone to carry my name, my legacy. Someone untouchable. He would rule the world just as I have.
Raven didn’t understand it yet, but she would.
I stepped away from the window, rolling my sleeves up as I turned toward the door. My steps were slow, deliberate, my mind already moving ahead. Raven had signed the contract, but that was only the beginning.
She would live under my roof, under my rules. There would be no room for mistakes.
I pressed the intercom. “Enzo.”
A beat of silence, then he responded. “Yes, boss?”
“Prepare the master suite. Have a guard stationed outside her door at all times.
She will live under my roof and under my rules. There would be no room for mistakes. Am I clear?”
His response came immediately “Yes, boss.”
I exhaled slowly, running a hand down my jaw.
She was mine now. There was no turning back. I would have whatever I want.
