Troy's Home

537 Words
Before they could even continue the conversation of pups, Gene began to play 20 questions with Troy about his past. Having already lied about not ever having a real home, he wasn't sure what else to say. He decided to with with a few partial truths. "I grew up with just my mother, my father left when I was barely a year old. He was a rogue who never really wanted to settle down in the first place. So after he left, my mother picked me up and off we went. I don't really know what she was looking for, but we never really settled down. Once I turned 18, I decided to go off on my own to see if I could find my mate and a home." Troy told his story, but leaving out the part where his mother actually found a new home with his current pack. After what seemed like hours of her parents trying to find out any and everything about him, what the next steps were, a plan for the future and everything in between, they were finally dismissed. "Do you want to head up to my room and get to know each other a little better" Thea teased. "Better not, if you don't want to bring any pups into this before we have our own lives figured out. Besides I need to go for a run, clear my head after the interrogation." He joked. "Alright, will you be back for dinner?" "Of course, I wouldn't miss it." As he walked off, he started mind linking his pack that had traveled with him to meet him back at the stream. Once he arrived he saw all 10 of his pack warriors that had been sent with him. Now in human form, thankfully wearing shorts they had brought with them, he filled them in on what he could without revealing Thea as his mate. He didn't want to jeopardize his position in the pack, but he also didn't want to lose his mate either. "This is what I know, the Dark Mountain pack doesn't bring in new members, I don't know why, but that means it's a fairly small pack. The woman we are to retreave is the alphas daughter. No one has explicitly announced him as the alpha, but no one else seems to be in charge. They have minimal warriors outlining their parimiter since they haven't had real enemies in centuries. I easily walked right in. Now, I have gained a little bit of trust for the moment. I know we only have one month to secure her alive and bring her home to our alpha. Let me have the week to see what I can do, after that if will be all hands on deck, taking her by force." They all agreed and quickly shifted back into their wolves to run off. Except Mason. He walked over with a questioning look on his face. He was Troy's second in command over the warriors. "Whats really going on man? I know you. There's something your keeping from us." "It's nothing major. Nothing that will affect the mission." With that, Troy walked away, taking the long way back to his mate.
