“We’re running out of time.” I glance over at Soren, his expression tight with worry as he watches the horizon. The sun’s final rays cast long shadows over the land, the evening sky turning crimson. The enemy is coming, and we’re all painfully aware of how close they are. “Don’t think about the time, think about what we need to do.” I cross my arms, resisting the urge to look behind me at the makeshift camp we’ve set up.
