Chapter One

1326 Words
I woke up to a loud purring-like sound. Nutball; my three-year-old cat, she's all black with white tip ears and circles around her eyes. She is the sweetest fur ball I've ever met, although others would say differently. She has disliked everyone she's ever been around but me. My cell phone begins to ring so I pick up the phone. It's Lex, 'the flight leaves at eight-thirty. Your mom and I won't be able to fly so we are going to drive. It's only a 10-hour drive and we've done much worse these past few years.' I let her know that sounds perfect and hung up. I have exactly eight hours and thirty minutes to be on that plane. All my clothing has been sent to the house so I'm going to have to stop by there before I get to whomever house, I am going to be in. I seriously don't even know why I would agree. Going back seems like more of a hassle than to just keep working. If only I could go back on my word, but it would look so bad in the industry. everyone would stop taking me seriously. I would be another immature little actor who doesn't know what they want in life. It took eight years to get that image out of people's minds. I have to stick this out to the end. I made my bed when I choose to go back there, now I have to lie in it and deal with the consequences. Whatever they may be. with the time that I had to get ready, I didn't do much; read the contract thoroughly to get the feeling of what I'm about to put myself through. Might I say there are a lot of rules? 'Buy your food for the house, whatever the mess you make clean up, do not go into home office, touch only the things that belong to you other than the kitchen and bathrooms, no bringing anyone home and pets of any kind stay in the bathroom given to you, don't disturb my privacy.' geez maybe I should have looked at the other contract instead of blurting out this one just to make mom mad. I do irrational things. something I have to work on. As of right now, I am sitting on the airplane reading a book, The curse prince and his sword. All action, no romance... It was the only book that wasn't packed with my things. I cringe silently to myself. my phone buzzed which caused me to look at the message I had just received. '16389 birch beer drive, your spare key will be under the rock to your left, shoes off at the door, don't scuff the walls nor floor -Riley.' It was a text from an unknown number. She's kind of rude, I'll try not to intrude more than I already am. Thankfully she's a SHE, although I was pretty sure the "partner" I would be living with would be a girl, it would be inappropriate otherwise but the contract doesn't specify the gender so it was a small scare non the less. I look at the time and it's six-fifty. I packed a small suitcase with the small things that were all I had left, by the time I left it was seven fifteen, it's a forty-five-minute drive so I should be there a little early, enough time to beat the line. I listen to Sel Gomez's album as I drove to the airport, sadly the airport was terribly crowded due to the media sending out my leave date, almost three airports that the media said I would most likely go. It just sucks that this was the only one that goes to Bayville. Bayville is a small town but it also has an airport, I guess that was good on my behalf, driving ten hours really would have been a downer. By the time I reached the plane, I was the last one to enter. I had to shuffle around the find my desired seat. I fell asleep during the flight, something about being in the cloud soothes me. Most people would be terrified but not me. Flying felt like home to me. Odd isn't it? I caught a cab to my house to grab luggage and my 2024 Nissan Altima XL, my other vehicle will be shipped to this address and arrive within five to seven days. It's a little after nine, and as I make my way to my "new home" with a roomie, I order Chinese food that way by the time they get to the destination I would be all washed up and ready for bed. I reached my destination within eight minutes, great that will make everything easier for me. With perfect directions, I found the key and let myself in. All the lights were off, she must be at work. This place is beautiful, walking into a gorgeous living room; walls painted pastel baby blue, accruing ton plush sectional couch with a glass coffee table, across from it is a huge flat screen television hanging on the wall. Aside from that was an opening leaning to the kitchen; white covered the walls, and everything was a grey and black granite. The refrigerator had a tablet on it. At least while I'm here my eyes won't be sore. Inside the kitchen was a sliding door, this place had a great size back yard and followed that is woods, I make my way back to the door to head upstairs. Walking up them I notice the gradient on the walls; light grey slowly drifting into satin blue, there were two doors on the left as well as two on the right, luckily there was a chalkboard on two of the doors. The doors wrote 'bedroom and bathroom' I walked into the bedroom and my jaw dropped I have a jacuzzi shower. Granite countertops with a chrome sink, I was never to brag about money but this girl must be as rich as me, I might like it here. And lastly, my room I opened my door praying I would love it, the walls beautiful carmine, I had a king-size bed to the left of me with a black silk comforter set, there is a walk-in closet with a dresser inside, damn Riley got style. I dropped my bags and got out some clothes along with a towel. I took a well-deserved shower which was cut short by my timer, I almost forgot about eating. I wear a white body-fitting tank top with my bite-me booty shorts, socks, and pink slippers. In perfect timing I heard a knock on the door, I hurry down the stair, quickly paid the guy, and went to the kitchen to grab a plate and utensils. Finally finding where the plates are I have to somewhat be on my toes. Whoever this chick is probably taller than "uh-em" Oh goody my new roomie I must make a good impression, "oh Riley right, I didn't hear you come in I would have been come down, I ordered food, how do you feel about Chinese? And girly your house is wonderful" why am I so nervous I meet people all the time, I'm rambling. "I'm glad to hear" I immediately turn around. Standing before me was a gorgeous man at least six foot four, with beautiful messy hair that looks as soft as silk, and fair beautiful skin, all he wore was basketball shorts and a T-shirt that fit heavenly on his body, muscles bulging, "um... Riley?" He stared at me as if I were prey, his eyes cold, probably like his heart. "I wasn't aware I would be letting someone who " I stop him before he finishes his sentence, "choose your next words wisely because we both have girl names" his eyes pierce through mine as he glared, I couldn't help smirking at his response.
