ChapterThree

Zev Sia my wife was the most beautiful wolf anyone could wish for, her long blonde hair and thick blue eyes would make you mistake her for a goddess. I was Alpha, I was strict and very much commanding. Although sometimes it seems like I don't listen to her, the truth is she is my weakness. Her voice melts even the strongest hearts and her touch sends shivers rippling through my skin. “Hunny, don't you think you went a little too far this time?” She asked, as she pulled herself a seat and settled down seated opposite me. I touched my forehead, exhaling… “Ayla has to do it. It's the only way we can stop Quinn from taking over this city. He is growing so fast…” I looked at my wife, she still had that calm and composed look she always had. “...faster than we would be able to predict” She leaned towards my desk and whispered “And you feel choosing a mate for our daughter is the right thing to do?” “Using her to gamble in politics? Arranging a marriage for her without my consent too?” Her once calm face had its eyebrow burrowed into a frown. “Zev you are going too far with this” I banged my fist very hard on the desk as I stood from my seat. Looking straight in Sia's eye, my anger was getting the best of me. “Ayala would marry Lucian's son and my decision is final. She is also my daughter and I have a right to make decisions in her life too and not even you can change that.” Sia stood up slowly, tears filling up her blue eyes and it looked like an ocean. “You've always been like this. You never listen, not even to your wife, I'll never be in support of a decision to choose a mate for our daughter, it is against our culture.” She stormed out of my office, wiping her tears just before she crossed the door. My bad habit had struck again. My anger. Emilia My eyes darted open, I could feel only one presence here and it was mine Where is Ayala? My legs swung into action as I hurriedly stood up from where we had both fallen asleep “Muffins?” I threw my voice into the dark woods, hoping for a reply but my voice came bouncing back to me in more than a thousand directions. “Where would she have gone?” Ayla can be so stubborn at times, though she's timid, her spirit is so strong and I know it. Something didn't feel right, I had to find Ayala, silver creeks were whispering to me… Ayala I could feel I wasn't alone My eyes watched all directions as I kept turning my head in random directions hoping that it was only my imagination playing pranks. I could feel fear oozing out of my skin, I felt like a thousand ants were creeping right under my skin. The scent this air had, that scent…it was so strong now and I could feel like someone was right behind me. Breathing. I turned quickly, plunging my fist in that direction and I felt the quick air rush and flush around my fist. No one was there, the space behind me was empty. I took my time, I closed my eyes, I wanted all these happening around me to just stop. To suddenly stop. I wasn't good at handling dangerous situations and I knew I was in trouble. “You shouldn't be here…little miss Zev.” The last part of the sentence came in with a raspy voice, it sounded like the voice of a mature male wolf or was it one of those ghosts that didn't find peace? The vocal pierced out having the sound of a mixture of disgust and mockery. I slowly opened my eyes and saw no one “Over here” The raspy voice cut through the heavy air finding my ear As I turned to my left, my eyes fell upon a man, No! He was a wolf but still in his man form. He had a broad face as well as jaws. His left eye was blank white and a scar ran a path over that eye drawing down to his cheeks. He had thick full beards and his muscles screamed full masculinity. His thick green polo has dark stains that seem like dried blood and he wore dark brown combat trousers. As my eyes slowly took in every information they could, my brain however seemed slow to come up with a thought. “You must be Zev's cub. You are far away from home” He said, walking towards me. I found myself taking backward steps, my mouth unusually dry. I didn't know this man and I didn't even want to know him or how he knew me. My very slow brain could only come up with one word. Run… I took off bolting into the air, I could hear my heartbeat as it raced quickly. Who was this man? What strange aura? Why am I running? Emilia I found myself running, screaming Ayala's name. The cold forest laughed at my attempt to find Ayala. No responses from my yells, no scents, no sound. Where could she be? “We know our way through Silver Creeks, there's no way Ayala would get lost here.” That was my mind wrestling with the fear that gripped my heart. I kept running and yelling her name and then suddenly, I picked up a scent. No two scents, it was Ayala, but who was the other one? It was a masculine scent but… It oozed evil. Ayla I fell and my hips reminded me I was in pain. My eyes poured tears as he stood over me, eyes red, canines extended and claws out “Cubs who stray far don't last long in the wild. You should have stayed with your sweet Alpha father rather than stray far from the den.” As he spoke, he was slowly transforming into his wolf, and now he stood full wolf, tall and brown with blood-red eyes. His canines… I had fear written all over my face, I couldn't move again. I just laid still paralyzed by fear, staring at death itself. He kicked me straight on my hips. The pain was indefinite, and I could feel the blood gushing more from the scathe. I winced in pain but somehow my lips finally found words “Who….ar..e…yo..u?”
