“Good morning, Sir,” Terrence’s employees greeted politely as we entered the company building.
I noticed the curiosity in their eyes the moment they looked at me, as if my presence beside their boss was something strange. Some of them even whispered among themselves, probably because they had already seen the news about the issue involving us.
Terrence didn’t bother greeting them back. He simply continued walking as if he heard nothing. I quietly followed behind him while Jeremy and some of his men trailed after us.
I forced a smile and stared at the floor as we walked. For a few seconds, I allowed myself to hope. I hoped he would officially introduce me here as his wife.
Who was I kidding?
I wanted to believe he got jealous yesterday, that was why he said those things about our relationship. But I knew I was only giving myself false hope. He only did it to piss Chaos off. That was the truth.
“F*ck!”
His voice snapped me back to reality as his hand quickly reached for my forehead, stopping me from accidentally hitting the wall.
I blinked several times while staring at the wall I was about to bump into. Slowly, I turned to the side and found Terrence staring at me seriously, though his eyes looked softer than usual. That was when I realized we were already standing in front of the elevator.
“Be careful. Watch where you’re going,” he said gently.
I swallowed hard twice before nodding slowly. He removed his hand from my forehead and carefully held my arm, pulling me closer to his side.
“Is there something wrong?” he asked softly.
“Nothing. I’m just not feeling well, so I didn’t notice where I was going,” I answered with a forced smile.
It was only half a lie. My womanhood and muscles were still aching. But I insisted on coming because somehow… I wanted to cherish this moment. A moment that wasn’t exactly wrong, yet still felt unfamiliar.
Terrence stared at me for a few seconds before letting out a sigh. He pressed the elevator button, and I was startled by what he did next.
“T-Terrence,” I stuttered as I quickly wrapped my arms around his neck after he suddenly carried me bridal style.
“I’m sorry. I took you too hard last night,” he said sincerely as he walked inside the elevator.
Heat instantly rushed to my cheeks, and I avoided his gaze. I quietly buried my face against his chest and slowly shook my head.
“It’s okay,” I murmured.
I did like it though.
Minutes later, we finally reached his office. He carefully placed me down on the sofa and stared at me for a moment before sighing once again.
“Do you want to go home? I can ask Jeremy to take you back,” he offered.
I quickly shook my head. “I’m okay. I’ll just get bored at home.” I secretly bit my lower lip because of how fast I answered.
Seriously, Alliyah. Stop making it obvious that you want to stay with him.
“Okay. Do you want to sleep in my mini room?”
My brows furrowed. “Mini room?” I repeated while looking around.
That was when I noticed another glass door behind his workspace.
“Do you sleep there whenever you can’t go home?” I asked curiously.
He simply nodded.
Without realizing it, I bit my lower lip and looked away. “Do you… sleep there with your girls?” I asked quietly.
“Wife…” Terrence called softly as he cupped my face and made me look at him. “I never let anyone enter my space here,” he assured me.
We stared at each other for a second before I averted my gaze.
“I’ll just rest here on the sofa. Do you… have visitors or business meetings today?” I asked hesitantly.
Instead of answering, he took out his phone and dialed someone.
“Cancel all my meetings for today,” he said before ending the call.
My lips parted in shock as I immediately sat up, only to wince from the sudden pain between my legs because of the movement.
“Why did you do that?” I asked, flustered and guilty.
“Just rest, okay? I’ll just check the blueprints for today,” he replied.
“But—”
I was cut off when he suddenly pressed a soft kiss against my lips.
“Rest, okay?” he repeated gently.
I could only nod in surprise. He smiled at me and gently caressed my hair.
I knew this sudden change was unexpected, but I couldn’t help wishing…
“Please… stay like this,” I whispered softly.
“Oy! You’ve been spacing out. Is something wrong?” Mavy asked, pulling me back to reality.
I looked at him through the vanity mirror while my stylist continued fixing my hair and smiled lightly.
“Nothing. A miracle just happened to me recently.”
Days passed quickly. It had already been a month. A month since I gave myself to Terrence, and a month since the way he treated me completely changed.
Although everything still felt unfamiliar, I allowed myself to get used to it and hoped that he was finally trying to fix our marriage. He no longer brought women home, and aside from that, he often slept beside me whenever he wasn’t busy with Mafia matters or work.
For the first time in three years, it finally felt like we were truly married.
Even without clear words from him, I held onto his actions instead.
“You’ve gotten even more blooming lately, girl. Mr. Montevardo’s taking good care of you,” Mavy teased.
I rolled my eyes, though I had to stop myself from smiling too much.
Yeah… he really was taking care of me now.
“I’m honestly surprised he allowed this photoshoot today. I mean… this shoot with Mr. Chaos. Last time, he looked like a volcano ready to erupt,” Mavy added dramatically while hugging himself.
I let out a soft chuckle and shook my head.
“Actually, he still doesn’t like this. He really didn’t want me to continue, but I insisted because of the contract,” I explained.
“I know it’s my fault, but stop making me feel guilty already,” my manager complained.
“Oh, fine. Just leave once they finish fixing you up. I’ll go check the props outside first.” Mavy leaned closer and whispered, “If you won’t give me your husband, then let me have Mr. Chaos instead. He’s hot too. He’s got six packs.”
“Mavy!” I shouted, embarrassed by the nonsense coming out of his mouth.
He only laughed harder, clearly enjoying teasing me. I glared at him through the mirror and pointed a finger at him.
“Control your d**k!” I hissed.
Instead of getting offended, he laughed even more.
“On second thought, fine, Alliyah. I’ll just take you instead.” He winked at me afterward.
“You’re impossible—”
“Then feel free to dig your own grave.”
Both Mavy and I froze when a familiar voice suddenly spoke from the doorway.
I lifted my gaze and saw Terrence standing there, coldly staring at Mavy through the mirror’s reflection.
Mavy awkwardly laughed before slowly turning toward him.
“I was only joking with Alliyah, Mr. Montevardo,” my manager explained nervously.
Even though I wanted to laugh at Mavy’s terrified expression, I focused my attention on Terrence instead.
“What are you doing here, Terrence?” I asked in confusion.
As far as I knew, he had a lot of appointments at the company today, so his presence here surprised me.
Don’t tell me he’s going to stop this shoot again?
He adjusted his suit before walking toward me. Mavy immediately moved aside to give him space.
“I’m here to be your co-model.”
My jaw literally dropped.
“W-What?” I repeated in disbelief.
Terrence didn’t answer. Instead, he looked at my manager sternly.
“I want to be in their shoot.”
