A heavy silence settled over the group after Charlotte recounted the Luna’s final words.
“I thought she was just being pessimistic,” Aries murmured, brow furrowed. “I even told her I’d see her on the other side. But now… do you think the Moon Goddess did something?”
“What? No,” Charlotte said immediately, shaking her head. “There has to be another explanation. You remember how calming and loving the Moon Goddess’s presence was.”
“I know,” Aries admitted, voice low. “But I can’t shake this feeling. Something is… amiss.”
Kieran glanced between them. “Mom, why would Aries think the Moon Goddess had anything to do with Luna Astley not coming back?”
