Aqua stood frozen, mouth hanging open. Of all the secrets Kieran could have been keeping from her, this was not one she ever would’ve guessed.
She genuinely thought the three of them — her, Kieran, and Stuart — got along perfectly. She’d imagined they’d all stay friends for life. That was how well they meshed. So hearing this now felt like a slap.
“You don’t like Stuart? Really?” Aqua searched her memories, trying to pinpoint when Kieran’s feelings could’ve shifted, but she came up empty.
Before he could speak, she held up a hand.
