I couldn’t do this.
I shouldn’t be doing this.
I had to push him away. My head knew it but my heart refused to listen. I couldn’t find the strength even the will. Alex was absorbing everything as he started to suck my tongue. My hands were free but my senses were shut down. What’s happening to me? “Do you like my kiss, little muffin?” he asked between his kisses. Before I could answer him, Alex was already connecting our lips again. Like he was desperate. A man on a mission. His desire to claim me. “Do my kisses better than Jason’s?” Listening to his name, my body restarted and I was back to reality.
I immediately pushed him away and wiped my lips with the back of my hand. Some stains from my red lipstick attached to my skin. How I hoped I could erase his disgusting remaining from me. He smirked. “How does it feel seeing the man you love is with another woman, muffin? Does it hurt?”
“You… You invited him, didn’t you?”
“I did. And I told him he could bring anyone he likes if he has one. I never expected he does have one. Ricardo Williams’ lovely secretary. I was surprised too back there.”
“Why, Alex?” I asked while slowly putting down my arm.
“You see, muffin. I have to know everything about the pet I’m going to use in order to accomplish my goal. In conclusion, I need to know everything about you. Your private life. Your friends. Family. And of course, your romantic life,” he stated.
But hold on a f*****g minute.
“Did you just call me pet?”
“I did. You are a pet, my dear. My pet. My perfect tool to destroy your brother’s life. I failed using Eve. Now I have you, you will make everything easier for me.”
“You think I’m going to obey you?”
“Unfortunately, Linda. You will have no choice but to obey me.”
I slowly shook my head. My emotion was in turmoil. A mix between anger, sadness, and disappointment. Betrayal. “Why, Alex? Why do you hate James so much? What did he do to you? Leave him alone.”
“Aw, did you just beg me, sweetie? That’s sweet. The fearless Linda Greene can do such low thing as begging?”
“f**k you, Browning!”
“Hm, I like that. I like it when you’re using that bitchy mouth of yours. I like it when you’re trying to be strong, Linda.”
“Oh, go to hell, Alex,” I groaned and turned my body, heading to the entrance. I couldn’t stand being in the same room as him. And I should leave his building too.
Not when he squeezed my wrist and harshly turned me so my chest hit his. His eyes turned cold. “Where the f**k do you think you’re going, little lady? We’re not finished yet.”
“Oh, I think we are. We. Are. Finished. I’m not going to work for you. Consider this as my resignation, sir.”
He chuckled and he did something unexpected, he licked his lower lip like he was turned on by my words. “I like it when you address me sir. Just like you’re one my…pets.”
“I’m not!”
“You are to me now. Don’t you want a Master who could satisfy your inner and darkest desire? You were always hoping for a prince charming, weren’t you? Your small wish from your childhood. Do you see that from Jason? I know he’s nice to women but he can’t even keep one girl to be with him. In the end, everyone abandons him. Just like a loser.”
“He’s not a loser!” I bellowed and tried to pull my hand. “He’s a thousand times better than you. Unlike you, he never looks down on women.”
“I am looking down on you now, pet. Do you even aware of what position you are in now?”
“I’m still leaving! Let me go!”
“Oh? Are you sure?”
“Yes! I don’t care about the job. I can find somewhere else as long as I’m not with you.”
“Hm… But Linda?” He slipped his hand on my lower back. My body went frigid instantly. “That’s what your head is telling you, how about your body? What is this? Do I sense anticipation? It seems your body is more honest than your mouth.” He raised my chin. “Should I make it honest?”
Without thinking, I spat at his face and he closed his eyes. “I say, go to hell, Browning.” I immediately pulled my hand from but he did something unexpected by tripping my heels and I fell to the floor. Landing my ass right on the wooden floor. f**k, that hurts! He pulled my ankle toward him as I screeched. “Get off!”
“Such beautiful hair you have,” he ignored me by grabbing my hair. Brutally pulling me toward him and he smelled them. He even kissed them. The hell? “You know, I usually hate blondies. Most of them are dumb. But with you, I like it.”
“In that case, I’ll change them so you won’t like it anymore.”
“Are you sure? Maybe Jason won’t like it anymore because he likes your blonde hair too.” Seriously, where the hell he knew about that? I remembered I colored them brunette before but I changed them into my natural color because he said he liked my hair. “You’re thinking about him again, aren’t you, muffin?”
“So? Jealous?”
“How cute. Do you expect him to save you, little muffin? From me. Just like what those princes do in those silly fairytales? Give it up, Linda. No one is going to save you from me. You are trapped with me.” How could this man be so twisted? So evil? So f****d up? Was he being controlled by his revenge too much that his soul became so dark now? Just what happened between him and James? I thought once James was cruel but Alex was worse.
Alex was right.
No one would come to save me. I was right in his territory. James or Jason couldn’t save me. They wouldn’t come for me. A prince wouldn’t come to save me. I was trapped with a monster I had no way out. A monster who was as gorgeous as a king who barked orders to everyone around him. A corrupted and sadistic king.
“I’m not letting you go until I’m satisfied, little canary.”
