Sam shook his head. He had gone to see Mammy Jem, and he had spoken to her about Madsen. But he was in no mood to discuss it with Duval right now. He felt like hitting something. “Well it seems you"ve got it all under control, Duval,” Sam said as he pushed his plate away.
“Not so fast. It gets complicated from here. The mother showed up this morning.”
“Her mother? You just said she had no family.”
“I said “supposedly." Madsen must"ve lied to Maire about not havin" a family, Sam. We tried our damnedest to track down any kin just to be sure, but we turned up nothing. It seems Madsen changed her name, ID"s, and all after leaving home without a trace years ago.
