Settling in.

"At least it's just the three of them." The Lenape tribesman said as the three livings walked over to a nearby window, one not really paying attention. "There's still plenty of room for us." "Yes, yes." The Revolutionary agreed as Trevor began staring at the two new women. "Three people is manageable." The soldier continued. "Limited commotion. No old lady bedridden while disease eats away at her, but we knew those good times couldn't last forever." "Y'know," the scout trooper spoke."A young couple and daughter could be fun to watch." Trevor agreed, but for reasons that did not align with the innocent scout leader. "Oh hell yeah, they would." Laughing a little sinisterly at the end, earning a disgusting look from Hetty and the scout. "OK, Trevor." "Before I forget." Sam said, reaching into her bag and grabbing out a lighter and some sage. "Dad!" Cassie shouted, pointing to her mother. "Woah, woah! What are you doing?!" He interrogated, rushing to Sam. "She gon burn the house down!" Cass cried. "Ugh, you're so dramatic, Cass. This is sage."Sam informed them. "I'm cleansing the space." "Oh, come on!" He whined as he followed Sam through the room to the hallway whilst she was 'cleansing' the area. "One day. Can't be normal for one day?" Cass asked to no one in particular before leaving to catch up with her parents. "Jay, this is Old House 101. You light this stuff, and it wards off evil spirits." This reveal caused ghosts to let out a gasp and jump back in fright. "Will it work?!" Hetty asked in fright. "Do you really believe in that?" Jay asked. "Better safe than sorry." Sam smiled. The scout stepped up and sniffed the aroma coming from the burning sage. "Mm, it's actually quite delightful." At this, Cassie stopped typing and looked up with confused expression plastered on her face. No way did a ghost just sniff that! Wanting to think nothing else of it, she shook the matter off and continued texting. "That's divine." Thor agreed. "Oooh, let me hit that." Flower said as the ghost all started to follow Sam and the sage. "I would enjoy a taste." Hetty spoke. "Is that the sage, or is that her?" Trevor questioned, running after the group. "Reminds me of torched village." Thor commented. "People, people, there's enough spirit repellent for all of us!" The scout trooper yelled. "Jay, we have a library!" "This place is like, Old School rich!" "I know. I did a little research. Apparently, my ancestors who lived here were actual robber barens. Like cartoon evil, slept on a bed of gold types." All the ghosts turned to Hetty for confirmation on what Sam had just said. "I mean, we did that once." Hetty admitted. "Now I'm interested. Tell me more, Mom." "You have no WiFi, do you?" "OK, Mom, just be glad I'm off of it." "Okay, they seem really nice." The scout trooper complimented. "They remind me of this couple I was married to when I was on the Commune. And a little of this couple I was married to when I was in the cult." Flower said. "Honestly," Jay said, bringing the ghost's attention back to the three in front of them. "it's like way more beat-up than in any of the pictures." "Excuse me?" Hetty asked, making sure that she heard that insult right. "It could use a little TLC, but we can fix it up."Sam encouraged. "Boy, she is really can-do!" The scout cheered. "I am rooting for these kids. I can not help it." Spoke Thor. "I'm telling you guys, this place is going to make an amazing hotel." As soon as the word hotel left Sam's mouth, the ghost gasped in horror, and any admiration for the family came crashing down. Many attempted to protest, despite knowing that their attempts would be futile. Thorfinn, due to dying before their creation, asked the group, " What is hotel?" "I'll tell you what a hotel is." The Revolutionary said, with pure disdain on his face. "A hotel is our worst nightmare! Every room in this house filled with people, coming and going!!!" The image of Trevor doging several people on the stairs and in the hallways, bustling with chatter and people showed. "Sleeping in our beds!" Listed the soldier. Another scene of a couple making out in bed with Hetty watching with much disgust, yelling, "Liberteens!" Before storming off. "And you don't even want to know about the CLUTTER! Thorfin, my fastidious viking friend!" The soldier cried. A third scene showed a man dropping his napkin at Thorfinn's feet, then swiftly walking away. "Why?!" Thor questioned, outraged. "WHY?! TRASH CAN RIGHT THERE!" He then bent down and attempted many times to pick it up but had no success. The scene was cut off when a young girl ran through the Viking ghost, causing him to scream in agony. The scout shuddered. "I hate getting walked through. It's probably the worst pain I can think of. No wait. Arrow through the neck. That'd beat it." "OK. New plan. KILL THEM!!" Thor screamed. "We can't kill them." The 1920s ghost reminded him. "Yeah, that's not nice." The scout agreed. "No. I mean, we don't have the ability." The 1920s jazz singer finished. Trevor looked at the scout whilst pointing to the former singer, trying to make the scout realise that that was the main issue. "Can't pick up a g*n! Can't put their feet in cement and drop them off a country bridge!" Seeing Hetty and a few other ghosts looking at her concern, the woman quickly said, "I went with a bootlegger for a spell. You hear things." She shrugged. "Plus, even if we could physically grapple them, that husband fellow would overpower us." The Revolutionary wheezed. "I mean, have you seen his shoulders? And the V-shaped back?" Stony silence spread across the room as the description of the new man's back hung heavily and weird in the air. The Revolutionary stepped back in embarrassment and motioned for Hetty to continue. "In summary, we must do something." She declared, referring to the three livings who had left the room long before. "Wait, wh-why don't we just try, haunting?" Trevor asked. "We scare them away. We're GHOSTS!" "Oh." Hetty let out, clearly liking this idea. "Woah." Flower gasped. "Yeah!" yelled Thor. "It's a good plan right?" Trevor questioned. "Oh, no, sorry. I was just seeing some major trails." Flower admitted. " What are we talking about?" "This plan of Trevor's fills me with discomfort." The Lenape argued. "The line between the living and ourselves is one we should respect." Unbeknownst to the Lenape, Jay was heading straight towards where he was stood. "Who are we WOAH!" He yelled in pain as Jay walked through him. The others gasped in worry for their fellow ghost, who was now doubled over, clutching his chest. "Got my jacket!" Jay yelled to Sam and Cassie. Flower and Trevor made a feeble attempt to stop Jay from walking through their friend again, who was being helped by the others. Unfortunately, due to the fact that Jay couldn't see them, the Lenape was walked through by him again."Alright." The Lenape breathed, still mostly in pain, "let's haunt these b***ards out of here." Now that everyone was on board with the plan, the ghosts all celebrated at the prospect of getting rid of these new humans.
