As I walked across the gravel path and reached the dock near the lake, I saw Bernard Mattias sitting and enjoying his coffee.
As soon as he saw me his smile stiffened.
Bernard Mattias looked at me and said. “I got nothing to say to you.”
“But I have a lot to ask and say to you, as I have promised your son and I will keep my promise.” I wrote it on my pad and showed it to him.
He looked surprised and said. “ So why are you here? The only thing my son said was to behave myself in front of you when you came. Isn’t my son already dancing around your little finger?”
Rufus grabbed my hand and made me sit on the lawn chair just opposite to his father.
I was fuming with anger, no doubt Rufus doesn’t want to be associated with him. it was really awkward.
