Anastacia wakes up to a deafening silence. She opens her eyes and blinks a few times, trying to focus on her surroundings, but the bright lights and white walls are too much for her eyes, and she raises her head, feeling someone holding her hand.
She turns her head to her left to find Adrian looking at her with an expression she can’t decipher, and she opens her mouth to ask him what happened and where she is. But just then, everything that happened comes crashing back, and she rips her hand away from him, abruptly sitting up on the bed and burying herself against the headboard.
