“Clio!” I call out to her, shaking her after Dr. Khan takes the baby, but she doesn’t respond. Dr. Khan hands the baby to me and he checks her pulse and confirms she’s unconscious. He suggests taking her to the hospital, but I stop him, realizing she must be transforming.
Although I’m not entirely sure of the process, I know it happens after giving birth. At that, I tell the doctor what’s happening, but I don’t explain to him, and he nods in understanding.
He’s a human, but his wife is a wolf, and every wolf knows what happens to a Lycan queen after giving birth. To them, it’s a myth since it’s not the same for werewolves, but they’ve heard of it, so he doesn’t give me grief and leaves when I assure him I will call him if I need him.
