The Broken Vo-Suie (Part 1)

Gemma sobbed as Max held her, his eyes darting towards Lily who was also crying while holding her finger to her mouth.

“Tell me” Lily whispered “How was he? Is he...did he look ok?”

Gemma sniffled, drying her eyes as she looked at her mother. She moved away from Max’s arms as she took the tissue he gave her

“He...looks amazing. So powerful. His peppered hair..” Gemma started

“Peppered?” Lily asked, confused

“You know, black and white” Gemma said

“Oh” Lily gasped

“If his hair has become white, it means the effect of not having his own, full immortality is taking its toll” Nait said quietly

“Oh no!” Gemma gasped

Max held her hand in support as he squeezed it. He looked at Nait “How was she able to do this?”

“Gemma has untold potential. Had she grown up by my side, I would have been able to train her and know what she was able to do. Even though she hasn’t had training, the desire to be with family took her to the next person she must have been thinking about and wanting” Nait explained “She projected to him. It’s possible that our father needed help and he didn’t even know he was projecting it. When mum gave him part of her immortality, he took on some of her power”

“So much power” Max said

“But I’ve never projected” Lily said

“But Gemma is the Astrid. It’s possible that all her powers are amplified. Remember when Lily was seventeen? And she got the power of time and magick on the day of her birthday” Nait said

“Wait, My sister had powers?” Gemma asked

“Of course. We are all from the same bloodline. Had she lived, no doubt she would have had some of the same powers as you. Remember, on the day she was attacked; she was also fighting with magick” Nait explained

“I wish I had known her” Gemma said quietly

“I wish you had too” her mother said, sniffling “Show me him”

“What?” Gemma asked with a frown

“Your father. Show me him” Lily begged

“How?” Gemma’s eyes widened

“Think about what you saw. Remember it” Nait said “I...I’d like to see him too. He has been hidden from us for so long. Even my own powers couldn’t find him”

Gemma looked at them as she tried to bring back the picture of her father in her mind. She recalled the walls and the cells, the cold floor and her father...in chains. Lily gasped when she connected her mind to Gemma’s; following Gemma’s journey until she reached her father. When Lily saw him in the chains, his long hair covering his face, she moved forward towards him

“My Tom” Lily whispered

Immediately, Tom whipped his head up and looked in front of him, his mouth opening in shock

“Lily flower. My Lily! Ho..how!...what are you doing here!” Tom asked

“Oh my Tom” Lily cried out

“Shhhhh my flower!. You must go” Tom urged

“I’m not really here. Gemma projected me” Lily said even as her hand reached between the bars “She is showing me you. Oh my love”

Lily walked through and stood in front of him exactly as Gemma did. Caressing his face, Lily cried out as Tom pressed his cheek into her palm, his lips grazing the soft skin with a kiss

“How I have missed you” Tom said reverently “How I have longed to touch you again my flower”

“And I you my love” Lily replied, tears dripping down her face

“How..?” Tom began

“I don’t know how long we have. Gemma is trying this for the first time” Lily whispered

“Gemma” Tom whispered, looking at his mate “She is so beautiful. So vibrant. Our little girl”

“Our Astrid” Lily spoke

“No! No….my flower...I can’t lose her too….She-” Cutting off, Tom heaved deep breaths

“Her destiny was written long before you and I my love” Lily said gently “She is so much more you than I. She has your compassion. Your love for justice. Do you really expect her not to take on her role?”

“I -“ Tom stiffened, his nose lifting in the air, his eyes blackening in anger as a chilling growl left his mouth “Show yourself. I know you are there”

Nait stepped out, his white robe moving behind him silently. Tom let out a chilling growl as his lips curled up, flashing his sharp canines.

“Who are you? You dare come-” Tom threatened

“I know I look different, but I thought you would have recognised me, what with the white hair I have dad” Nait said

“Sebastian?” Tom asked, his eyes widening, his breath hitching “My goddess! Look at you! My son...my…”

Tom let out a sob, his eyes tearing up before they finally fell. His head falling down, his emotions all over the place as he saw his family after hundreds of years. Lily sobbed as well as she touched his face lovingly. When Tom brought his face back up, he looked at his son, his eyes displaying all his emotions

“Sebastian” Tom started

“Seebbbasstiaaannnnn!” another male voice shouted

“Who was that?” Tom asked as he looked around

“Max” Nait and Lily said together

“Who?” Tom asked

Nait immediately faded and Lily turned to look at Tom, smiling as she took a step back

“Lily flower” Tom said

“I must go” Lily said as she started to fade “I promise I will find you again”

Saying that, she disappeared.

When Lily appeared back to the palace, she looked around and panicked when she couldn’t find anyone. Within seconds she heard Nait in her mind

The school’s being attacked! Cindy called out to Gemma and Gemma just disappeared without Max Nait explained

What?! Why? Lily asked worriedly

I don’t know. I’ve just...shit! Nait cut off

Nait! Naitttttt! Lily shouted but Nait cut her off.

Holding her waist, tears leaking from her eyes, Lily paced up and down the floor, her heart thumping in her chest as she saw the last glimpse of Nait’s mind. Praying for the safety and well being of her children, knowing that she couldn’t help, she cried; collapsing on the steps of her throne as she waited for her children's return

Gemma blasted out blue and red balls of fire one after another as she fought without stopping, taking down two attackers who were blasting out their own fire balls. Chaos rained all around them as the academy forest area became a battleground. As Gemma has been projecting her father’s destination, Cindy had spoken to Gemma, telling her that they were under attack. Someone had opened a portal into the academy, someone who had access. Who hadn’t seemed a threat,

Within seconds, Goine and his followers started to pour into the forest. As they started to make their way up to the academy, The council and the warriors were alerted and they raced to the forest, preparing themselves for the battle. Aurora had taken over, phasing herself without her mate, onto the beginning of the battlefield, her Fae ears elongating , her eyes turning molten lava. Cindy ran to her as wielded her swords, twirling them around in circles as she cut down different demons who tried to come for them. When Max shouted out for Sebastian and he had appeared, Max explained what had happened and immediately, Nait had phased them both to the battlefield. As soon as he saw the fighting, the death cries and fallen bodies on both sides.                                                                                                                                                                                           Max shifted into his wolf as Maxsius stood on his two hind legs, his fur sprouting out of his skin, his length growing as he towered over most of the people around them. His arms lengthened as lethal claws as long as skewers grew. Letting out a long and powerful howl, Maxsius ran into the fray; his howl alerting others to his arrival. Immediately the others around him who were also shifters; turned with the call from their alpha. Human’s shifted into wolves, Gargoyles took flights, the students who practised magick and spells found new power with their Astrids mate arriving on the scene.

Maxsius saw Gemma up ahead, Cindy flanking her as she cut down demons with her swords, her hands quick and agile as she flashed in an arch, serving the head from its body. Aurorra trudged on towards the three demons in front of her as they threw different spells and energy balls at her, trying to graze her while they protected Goine who tried to throw out the nightshade acid flower at people. Some he missed, others were hit as they went down, crying out in pain; the flesh eroding as it ate through their body. Goine flashed a smile at Gemma until he realised it wasn’t her who fought back. As two more demons were cut down and two blasted into pieces as Aurorra hit them with her fireballs.                                                                                                                                                                                          The smell of death was high in the air as Aurorra walked towards Goine, her hands throwing out various spells, hitting the demon in front of her as Goine tried to take something out of his bag. While everyone fought, their attention diverted; boots crushed the blades of grass as they made their way towards Gemma. Lifting her hand and throwing a dagger towards Gemma; it nearly hit its mark but Cindy had thrown her shield out and it hit against the dagger, throwing the dagger off

“Mum!” Cindy shouted as she ran to her “How could you? You’re a Vo-Suie!”

Carrie laughed, her voice carrying towards the battlefield and alerting Ben and Max. They lifted their heads as they ran towards them, attacking, killing and tearing apart those that were against them and got in their way.

“You took long enough” Goine said as he threw a fireball towards Aurorra

“I trusted you!” Gemma shouted as she took control for a few seconds “You were my mother. But all this time…. You were a traitor!”

“You were a burden. One I never wanted” Carrie said as she took a running jump, her left leg out as she aimed towards Cindy to maim her.

Cindy turned around as Carrie sailed past her, missing Cindy by an inch. Cindy pivoted at the last moment and kicked her right leg back, aiming for and hitting Carrie’s kidney, Causing Carrie to fall before she scrambled up, Gemma threw a fireball at both Goine and Carrie, her aim sure and strong and hitting their body.

“You have broken the bounds of trust. Breaking the code for Vo-Suie’s all over the world” Aurora said as she took over Gemma again

Goine screamed out in pain as Maxsius swiped him with his lethal claws. Ben rushed to help Aurorra as she and Cindy fought with Carrie who used her many years experience dodging them, inflicting pain on them at the same time.

“Carrie? What the f**k are you doing?” Liam asked

Cindy snarled as she saw her father rushing towards them, clearing a path after taking down two demons himself. Cindy held out a sword towards him, the tip grazing her father’s neck as he neared them. As a small bead of blood trickled down; Carrie kicked Ben, sending him flying back as he tried to scramble up to fight his own mother

“Don’t lie dad. You’re with her!” Cindy said, not taking her eyes off her father “Stop Carrie or I’ll kill him”

“Do it” Carrie said after a deep breath “I don’t care”

“Carrie?” Liam asked, his eyes wide

“We know” Cindy sneered. “We know that you two have been betraying us all these years. That you are working with someone to kill Gemma!”

“Cindy! How dare you! We would never betray her. I was the book keeper before your brother became it and you’re mother has been Lily then Gemma’s Vo-Suie” Liam gripped

“Lies!” Cindy shouted before swinging her sword to decapitate her father

Suddenly, a blue energy ball hit Cindy on the shoulder, causing her to cry out. She stumbled back as Aurorra threw out a few energy balls herself, causing them to hit Carrie on the face as protected the man walking towards them. He bent down and helped Carrie up as he placed a shield around them, protecting them

“What the f**k?” Gemma gasped “H..How could you have my power?”

“Your blood” He said

“Who are you?” Gemma asked as Aurorra tried to regain her energy

Cindy leaped as she fought her father as Liam threw out his own spells at his daughter, trying to protect himself as his eyes darted between his mate and Gemma. He could see Maxsius and Ben fight Goine who now had three new demons with him. Liam threw a blue energy ball at Cindy, catching her shoulder as she went down, crying out

“Who the f**k are you?” Liam shouted at the man

“It’s too late for you to pretend you don’t know” Gemma said with disgust “You can stop the acting”

He laughed as he threw another ball of energy at Gemma. Just as Gemma threw up her own shield, Liam ran towards her; his hand stretched out. The energy ball hit his top arm and burnt it; the ball causing sparks like fireworks going off on his arm. Liam cried out, chanting a spell that caused roots from the ground to rise up from within the protective dome where Carrie still lay hurting on the ground. The roots took hold of the man’s left foot and dragged him down, his cry of shock comical as his face contorted

“Daaad” Ben cried out as he ran to his father
