23 OPERATION SALVAGELek was straight on the computer again the following day. She posted the relevant emails to the web site, answered those that required it and left those which concerned their new agency until she could talk with Ayr at eight o’clock.
Ayr, for her part, drove to her Dad’s for breakfast, left her car there and used his old Thailand tractor to take the boys to the shop. Everybody was quite excited, it was like a school outing on a charabanc.
Ayr stopped outside the shop and turned the engine off.
“Wait here, lads, or sit in the shade under that tree, if you like, I won’t be long.”
