Anna let out a deep sigh as they stepped out of the portal, looking around the familiar walls of the base. William’s hand tightened around hers and she gave him a hesitant smile, not sure what the intense look in his eyes meant. They headed toward the Control center, but they had barely covered half the distance when the sound of hurried steps made them all stop.
Iris reached for her powers, her energy making the air shift like a soft breeze passed through the corridor, but Anna didn’t bother. She wasn’t sure how she was doing it yet, but she could recognize the people moving toward them even before she saw them. Their unique energies flew into the world around them, making it easy to pinpoint, even with several walls between them.
