Iris stopped in front of the villa, straightening her button-up shirt and making sure there were no spots or creases on it. She was already regretting going to that dinner, but she had promised Anna and she always kept her promises to her little sister. The villa was well out of the city and while it wasn’t as safe as a bunker, it was still safe enough for their parents, who insisted on having a proper meal that they didn’t have to eat out of tin plates. Their mother was probably in her element inside, preparing a five-course meal and taking out the most expensive china they had in their summer home.
