I had barely walked away from the private room when I heard Adrian's voice again. There was anger in it. Something about it made me stop. For a moment, I hesitated, then turned back and quietly returned to the door. "Adrian, what's wrong with you all of a sudden?" someone asked. Another voice followed, half-joking. "Don't tell me you actually like your little assistant." "I don't like her," Adrian said without hesitation. A man let out a relieved laugh. "You scared me for a second. I thought you were upset about us messing with her. Good thing that's not the case. Wouldn't want to ruin the mood between us." A woman's voice chimed in, light but pointed. "Adrian, you'd better not fall for that poor little girl. If you do, I'd be heartbroken." Adrian’s tone was firm, almost dismissive.
