She’s awake

When Sandra started talking, David was so happy all he could do was stand and go over to her and kiss her on the forehead, which probably surprised her, but he was too excited to care. David: I’m going to get the doctor, and I’ll be right back. I’ll have someone come in with you till I get back, so just wait here and at least we know you can still yell. As soon as he walked out of the room, his mom was standing right there, which scared him because he didn’t even know she was standing there. Anne:David, why is she yelling at you? What did you do to her, and why did I just see you kiss her on the forehead? Explain now! David just came up with the first thing that came to mind, which was going to get the doctor and be back as fast as he could possibly be. David: Uh, I’m going to go to the doctor, so I’ll talk to you later. Could you sit in with her, please, and maybe get a hold of Peter to have him take her dogs? Anne:Sure, but you owe me an explanation when you get back, so be quick about it, and you had better not have done something to her. When his mom was done talking, David left and went to get the doctor and, be fast, because he knew that since Sandra yelled at him that he was in deep s**t which is never fun. Anne walked into the room and there was a lovely young lady, and she looked deep into thought, but then she noticed her, so she sat down in the chair and introduced herself. Sandra: Well, it is nice to meet you and I have no clue why you guys would be so worried about me when I’m just an invisible human being that nobody believes. When she said that she was a nobody, Anne felt so bad for her. How can someone have that much pain and be so nice to others? Anne: Mandy, she called your mom, but she didn’t believe that you were in a collapsed building and said some stuff. I’m so sorry that it happened because you didn’t deserve that. Sandra: Thank you for that, but you don’t have to be nice to me out of pity. I have suffered enough in my life. I don’t need pity from people, so if you are going to pity me, just leave now! When Sandra said that Anne should leave because she felt like they were only here out of pity for her, Anne felt bad that Sandra felt that why about her, but she was somewhat right. Anne did pity her. Anne: You know, some people don’t pity you. Some are truly sorry about what you have to go through, but I will leave as you asked. Sandra: I don’t want people who feel sorry for me in my room and I don’t want David in here if he just feels sorry for me. Anne: He doesn’t know what happened to you, so I will just let him come in. I still don’t know how a mother can’t believe their own child. After that, Anne left the room and there David was outside the door, and she knew he had a lot of questions, but it was not her story to tell, so Anne just walked away. David After David went to get the doctor, he headed back to her room to find his mom apologizing for something that had happened to her and Sandra didn’t want pity and knew his mom would feel sorry for her and pity, so David didn’t blame Sandra for not wanting any pity. David:Hey I’m back. The doctor should be in soon. Why are you crying? Did something happen while I was gone? David thought that his being in the room would be fine, but she just looked at him like he didn’t ask, so David sat down and then thought of something that would make her laugh. David:You know, when you were unconscious I lost the bet that we had, so you win, since I told you mine. Don't you think it's only fair to share yours? When David was done talking, she just started talking. She turned over and looked at him and smiled, which was nice to see. Sandra: You really lost it by telling me while I was unconscious. That is the funniest thing I’ve ever heard in my whole life. Your mom knows what happened, but it’s a long story. David:I have plenty of time because we have to stay in the hospital the same amount of time, which is not too exciting, don’t you think? Sandra:I don’t like hospitals very much, but I think being stuck in a collapsed building for two days with you, I’ll be fine. At least David had made her laugh and was able to stand having him around, but he was sure her story was worse than his was. Sandra:”Look. My mom has got a boyfriend. But she had believed everything he had said and, one day, I was home alone, and he got drunk and came over and sexually assaulted me. When my mom came home, the police were there, and she ran over to her boyfriend being put in the back of a police car. They were taken to court, and I was asked what had happened, but they sided with him instead of me, and so, from then on, my mom would beat me for what I said, but it was the truth, and so, when I got accepted to a college, I left and, from till now, I haven’t been home. David was right about her story being worse than his, but he knew the feeling of family not believing in her, and it was sad to hear how someone would be so mean. David: Don’t worry, I don’t pity you. My parents and grandpa didn’t believe that I could make it in the business world, but I proved them wrong, and eventually they apologized, but the only one who really believed that I could make it in this world was my grandma, so after my grandma died, I promised that I would make her proud of me. She was just silently listening to him, and David was happy that he got to tell someone what had happened, but even though their stories were different, they both had family not believing them. Sandra was glad that she woke up. Because then she wouldn’t have been able to share her story with anyone else, but the thing is that he didn’t pity her or feel sorry for her. He understood how it felt not to be believed by someone. Doctor:How are you feeling, Mrs Johnson? I see you are awake. Let me check your bandage, and then I will leave the room, OK. Sandra: OK doc though, how were you able to get the pipe out of my gut because it was deep in there? Doc: We have some of the best surgeons in the world. And how is your arm? Mr. Tatura, it looks like you are feeling better from the pain you were in. David: It is better, but why didn’t you guys wake me up after my surgery? You knew that I wanted to know if Sandra would be fine or not. Doc:You were both completely dehydrated and hadn’t had anything to eat for days, so we kept you hydrated. While they were talking, Sandra was thinking she hadn’t had anything to eat for a while, so she didn't think it would hurt to ask if they could have some food. Sandra:Hey doc, would it be fine if we had something to eat or are we not able to because I'm hungry? Would it be OK? Doc:Yes, it would be perfectly fine for you both to have something to eat, but don’t eat too much. OK, we don’t want you over-eating. Sandra:Thanks doc, I’ll call if I need anything. OK, I’ll order some food now, bye.
