David
When Sandra asked the doctor if we could have food, I realized we both hadn’t eaten in two whole weeks, which is surprising because a person can’t survive without food for seven days, but I guess we just got lucky.
David: So what are we going to eat? Because, like you, I haven’t eaten anything, so what will it be? We both know I’m very conscious of what I eat, so let’s both decide.
Sandra: OK, well, there are several different places around that I haven’t eaten at, but they all look good, so they have shrimp and pasta, golden-flaked steak and potatoes, which look delicious. Of course, we could always order from all of them and then eat what we want.
As Sandra was looking through the options which looked good, she suggested that we could order from all of them and an idea popped into my head.
David: You know we could do that and annoy the people around us, because I want my family to leave and go home instead of being here.
Sandra: At least your family cares about you. Mine don’t, so you should be proud that you have people who care about you, but anyway, I like the idea. Let’s do it.
All I could do was laugh at how excited she was about doing this, which made me realize I hadn’t laughed this much in years. It felt good to laugh.
David: I’ll go make the order, so I’ll be right back and do you need anything before I go do this or do you want someone here with you?
Sandra
When David asked if I needed anything or wanted anyone here with me, I knew his mom was just trying to be nice, but I still shouldn’t have said that stuff to her.
Sandra:Would you stay in the room and order the food, but ask your mom to come in for a minute. Please, I really need to apologize for how I was to her.
With that, David nodded his head and went out of the room for a minute, then went back with her and all I could see was look down at my hands.
Anne: Want to see me about something? "What is it if it was about a little while ago? " I’m sorry for stepping over a line that I shouldn’t have, but I don’t understand why a parent would not believe their child.
All I did was shake my head at her. Yes, she stepped over the line, but she was saying how someone couldn’t believe in their child.
Sandra: You know people aren’t perfect at being parents, but when you say you can’t understand how a parent can’t believe their child, I believe that no one can’t believe a child.
When I said that, she looked down at her hands like she was remembering something she wasn't proud of, but when there is nothing you can do to change the past.
Anne:I know all parents aren’t perfect, but they should at least stand up for their children, but I get what your point is. I didn’t believe in mine, but when something like that happens to a child, a parent should stand with them.
Sandra: I’m sorry for what I said earlier, but I know pity and people who feel sorry for me, but it doesn’t give me the right to speak like that to you, so I’m sorry.
Anne:I accept your apology, but I do understand that you have had people pity you, which no one should do if it would help any. Mandy’s husband is a lawyer, and he could help you with what happened and finally get justice for what happened.
Sandra: I appreciate the offer, but I have come to terms that no judge would put him behind bars because he can be very convincing and that’s okay.
Anne
She could be helped, but why would any judge believe him? I would have Dedrick talk to her, but I would ask her first before I talked to him about it.
Anne:Would it be OK not to say you have to go through with it, but would it be fine if he talked to you? I know you said you didn’t want to, but will it be OK?
She just shook her head, then David came back, and I went to leave through the door, but David followed me.
David:Why did you ask her if Dedrick could come in and talk to her about what happened? It was done. What else could we do when he got away on a clean slate?
Anne:Would you talk to her about it, because she is just as suburban as you, so can you please ask, because she needs some closure because of that, and I’m sorry I didn’t have any faith in you.
David: It’s OK mom, I forgave you a long time ago, so it doesn’t matter to anyone, but it did hurt that my family didn’t have faith in me.
Anne: No, you had your grandma, and she would be proud of all you have accomplished, and we are proud of you too, but we know you have to rebuild.
David: I’ll be fine because I have a good secretary who will help me and I will be happy with whatever comes my way, but I can talk to her, but I can’t promise anything.
After that, I went back to the waiting room and sat down next to my lovely husband, who has always been supportive of my decisions in life, even if they weren’t good ones.
David
I walked back to the chair and sat down next to the bed and wanted to talk about what my mom said, but she started talking instead.
Sandra:I know your mom asked you to talk to me about taking it back to court, but I don’t see the point in it, because of who his father is, he will get away with it again.
David:Who is his father, and why would he get away with it again? " Is his father that powerful, that he has control over everything that happens?
Sandra:His father is Andrew Peters, so yeah, he is the best judge around and the same person who did my case, so he is pretty powerful in the court world, so yeah, no one will put his son in jail.
When she said that the guy her mom was dating was Andrew Peters' son, I was surprised that he would side with his own son and not the victim of the crime. I mean he has had a lot of cases where he has found people who have had what happened to her not guilty somehow.
David: Don’t worry that Dedrick has gone up against him before and won a case like this, but he has done some things even though they are bad.
Sandra: That’s because those were his friend's sons, so it didn’t matter if they had done it or not, they got away with it, but if you really think he could get me justice for me.
David: OK, don’t worry, we’ll be right behind you no matter what happens, and it says the food is here, so let’s eat. Then I will get Dedrick, and I’ll be here the whole time.
Sandra:Thank you for the support and for keeping me alive while we were stuck in the building, and I’m sorry I got mad at you, but I was stressed out.
David: Oh, I have a surprise for you and I know you will love it, Terry, you can bring them in to know I was going to wait until after we ate, but I think you will be happier with them here.
Sandra
When he said that he had a surprise for me, I was so confused. Then he asked Terry to bring them in and there they were my babies, Leo and Luna. I was so happy to see them.
Sandra:Thank you, David. This is the best surprise I could ever get and thank you, Terry, for taking care of them for me.
Terry: It was no problem. They were so sweet, but they missed their mom more, and I think they are happy to see you OK.
Sandra:How did you get clearance for them to be in the hospital? They don’t allow pets in them, and please don’t tell me you bribed a doctor or nurse.
David: Oh no, the doctor wanted to know if there would be anything they could do because of what the nurse did, so I asked if we could bring your dogs to you when you wake up, and he said yes.
Sandra: Well, thank you for having Terry take care of them and for all the help you have given me over the past two weeks.
David: You’re welcome, Terry. " You can leave now and bring the food and go home and change it because you stink.
After that, two little boys came running into the room and shouting at David. All I could do was laugh when they jumped on him and started to mess with his cast and scold him.
David: OK, OK boys, I’m fine. Will you stop and let your mom know that you are back here with us, or will you go back to have food so you will follow Terry's speech, or will I get your mom?
Drew, Troy: We followed Terry because they weren’t paying any attention to us, so we thought we would come hang out with you since you never visit anymore.
Sandra:I don’t see a problem with letting them hang out with us and, plus, I bet they haven’t even had anything to eat. " You aren’t allergic to anything, are you?
Drew, Troy: No we’re not!
Sandra: Let’s eat then.
