A shiny Black Aston Martin Rapide car pulled over outside Anna’s house some minutes after Anna got home from work, Anna ran out in fear from her apartment but was stopped by one of the bodyguards of Mrs. Vance, he opened the door and Anna saw Mrs. Vance inside the car.
“Get in, quickly”, Mrs. Vance said
Anthony had sneaked into her house when she wasn’t at home, she saw him in her room with one of his bodyguards and ran out in fear to seek help but fortunately, Mrs. Vance was on her way to her place to tell her about his son's change of mind and convince her about the proposal, they drove off before Anthony came out of the house.
As they drove off, Anna told her about how she encountered Anthony again in her house when she came back from work, Mrs. Vance calmed her down and assured her she was safe now and he couldn’t touch her or cause any harm to her. She then convinced her to reconsider her proposal and accept it just for her safety and to save her from further threats.
“I promise to keep you safe Anna, and your secret is safe with me, my son won’t even know about it, he has agreed to the proposal, we just need to finalize the contract and sign the documents”
Anna was now calm and composed, she had no other choice than to accept the proposal, Anthony knew where she stayed and he could come back anytime, she was no longer safe, she agreed to it and they drove off to meet Richard at his house and make the necessary arrangement.
They arrived at Richard’s mansion, he was in his study room when they arrived, and his mother called to him and they sat down to discuss the whole proposal and contract, Richard tried to compose himself due to the presence of his mother.
"Now let's get to the real deal, you'll be getting married to my son and act as his wife on every public occasion where your presence is needed; you don't need to act as his wedded wife at home", Mrs. Vance stated clearly.
"Both of you are not entitled to be in a relationship with someone else throughout the time of this contract", she added.
Anna nodded her head in consent, and Richard just gave a cold glare at her and nodded in consent, they finally picked a date for the ceremony, since it was close to weekend, Saturday which was in two day time was picked for the ceremony.
Anna informed Mark about all that happened, he was happy for her and he assured Anna everything will go on well.
Anna walked down the aisle in a flowing white gown, holding her fragrant bouquet in her hands, as soon as she stepped on the red carpet leading to the altar, her heart raced in anxiety, with every step she took, her heartbeat pounded within her, but she masked her anxiety with a smile.
This was a contract wedding, but she couldn't help but feel the weight of the whole event, the guests stood up as she made her entrance, all eyes fixed on her as she walked in, her heart raced, overwhelmed with emotions, but she tried to maintain her composure.
She lifted her head to see Richard a few meters from her in a black tuxedo with a smile on his face standing next to the pastor at the altar, Also Mark, whom she had decided to walk her to the altar, and her mother-in-law; Mrs. Vance stood at the center of the aisle, their eyes filled with happiness and joy.
“You look so beautiful Anna”, Mark whispered in his ears as he pecked her on her cheek.
“You look like an angel, charming and adorable”, Mrs. Vance also complimented her she hugged her compassionately.
Mark held her hand as he walked Anna to the altar, Anna was so overwhelmed by the whole scene, she wished it was her dad walking her to the altar and her mum beside her today, she wished all this happened under different circumstances and not her having her wedding based on the fact she wants justice over her past.
Tears started rolling down her cheeks, Mark glanced at her as he whispered to her, “C’mon Anna, today is a joyous day, you're finally embarking on the means to get what you want, don't ruin it please, everything is going to work out well”, he said in a soft tone.
Anna glared at him and gave a deep sigh as she wiped off the tears on her face.
The pastor held the microphone, calling the guest's attention to the altar, “We are gathered here today to celebrate the union of two people who have found love and happiness in each other's arms”
Anna gave an awkward smile as she stared at Richard, “Love? This isn't love, we're here based on a contract and there's no happiness in this”, she muttered to herself silently.
“Anna William and Richard Vance, you have chosen to spend the rest of your lives together, and that is a beautiful and noble decision, as you stand here today, surrounded by family and friends, know that you have our support and our prayers. May your marriage be filled with joy, laughter, and above all else, love." The pastor concluded.
“I now pronounce you husband and…”
Suddenly the door barged open, with an unknown figure shouting, the bodyguards were running after the person as she was shouting, “You cannot marry each other while I’m still alive, it will never happen”.
Everybody turned in amazement to see who was shouting on top of her voice, Anna was terrified at the sudden turn of event, but this change in scenery was an opportunity and a beam of happiness for someone in the congregation.
At the back corner was a man sitting and watching the whole event, it was Anthony, after he managed to locate Anna’s house and she managed to escape from him, he made an inquiry and found out she is getting married that weekend, he managed to know the venue for the wedding and came in to witness it, but the appearance of the unknown figure fueled his mission.
Fortunately he happens to know who the unknown figure was, he smiled to himself as he walk out of the whole chaos and pandemonium in the wedding hall, “This all just gets interesting and fun”, Anthony said to himself.
Mrs. Vance, accompanied by one of his bodyguard in anger rose up from where she was sitting to meet the person that barged into the wedding hall.
“Do you have a death wish? Who are you and how dare you to interrupt my son’s wedding?”
