Sophia woke with a start, feeling a presence behind her. She turned her head. "Up already? Want a drink or breakfast?" a familiar voice sounded above her. His voice was calm but like lightning in her ears. She closed her eyes, hoping desperately that this was all a dream. "Please, it's just a dream... it's just a dream... please God," she whispered. She peered out from under the covers, then pinched her arm hard to make sure she wasn't dreaming. Reality hit her. It was really him! Aston Howard, Sophia's ex-husband. "Oh no, s**t!" she hissed. Sophia was in bed with her ex-husband, naked. She tried to sit up, pulling the covers over her body. "Sophia .." Aston, still waiting for her to reply. The familiar ache in her muscles told her that Aston had been... very enthusiastic the night before. Memories flooded back, a rush of sensations. Moans, kisses, touches... she had multiple orgasms. Oh no! Slowly, she pieced together the events of the previous night. Yesterday, she and her office mates had organized a small party to celebrate Sharon's birthday. After work, she rushed to pick up her son, Kayden, and take him to Melisa's house. But her car's tyre blew out, and she arrived at the bar late. Her friends punished her for being late with five shots of liquor. So she drank on an empty stomach, and after a few drinks, she felt dizzy. Everyone partied, danced, and drank until they were drunk. She didn't remember much, except that she was the last to leave. She stumbled out of the bar, and then... he was there. Helping her as she almost fell. "Sophia, it's been four years... you've changed a lot," he said, his voice low. She fell into his arms and, foolishly, followed him home. How could she sleep with him? Her memories slowly came back, starting with her throwing up before getting into his car. Then he took off his suit to change out of her vomit-stained blazer. And he took her to his mansion. He carried her upstairs to her former room when they were married. He carried her to the bathroom, and Sophia could remember touching him—his muscles had always been her favourite. His ragged breathing still echoed in her mind. "I'll clean you up. Just wait," he said calmly. But she ignored his words and kissed him. "Why can't you hold it for a minute?" He said, but Sophie didn't care. " I've been holding it in for four years," she whimpered. Sophia slapped her forehead and cursed her insanity. If there was a crack in the ground, she would throw herself into it. It was so humiliating. She had never slept with anyone after the divorce. But even so, she couldn't believe she... wanted to have s*x with her ex-husband, could she? Aston returned with a tray of toast, jam, and orange juice. He placed the tray on the nightstand and leaned over, smiling at her. "Melisa called this morning," he said. Sophia's eyes widened. "Oh my God, Kayden!" she cried. "Don't worry, I sent a driver to take Kayden to school," he assured her. Relief washed over her. "God, Kayden, forgive your mother. I shouldn't have slept with your father and forgotten to take you to school." She muttered under her breath. Silence fell, thick with embarrassment. "Eat. You threw up so much, you must be starving by now," Aston said, taking a piece of bread and shoving it into her mouth. Sophia refused. "I have to go," she said, walking to the bathroom and hugging the blanket around her naked body. She hurried over and closed the bathroom door with a loud bang. Sophia exited the bathroom to find Aston still there, looking at her with a faint smile. She quickly looked away and rifled through her clothes. "Where are my clothes?" she asked. "I told the maid to wash and dry all your clothes," he said. Sophia turned her back on him and sighed in annoyance at herself. Before she knew it, Aston approached her, pulling her into a tight embrace. She could feel the strong, throbbing muscles of his chest against her back. Four years had passed, and this was the first time he had touched her again. Besides the embarrassment, she hated her lack of self-control. Memories of the previous night came flooding back. She was like a lion, starving for so long, finally able to eat a delicious meal. What a fool! She shouldn't think about it anymore. If she continued to think about it, her legs would curl up in shame, and her face would turn red. "I'll get my clothes," she snapped, pulling away from his embrace. "I'll just get them for you," he said. "Just tell me where my clothes are," she insisted, trying to sound harsh. She looked up at him, her eyes catching the blush creeping up his neck. Her throat quivered softly. His big hands grabbed her waist, pulling her closer. "Do you still hate me?" he asked, his face moving closer to Sophia's. Sophia used all her strength to calm herself. "Let go..." she said, shifting her body. But then she realized something and almost bit her tongue. Her voice... why was it so hoarse? Aston opened the bedroom door and explained in a whisper, "Sorry, I can't control myself..." Couldn't control what? How could he make her voice so hoarse? "Your clothes are already in the closet. I'll go to the office. You... if there's anything, call me." Sophia grinned disgustedly in response to Aston's remark, "Who the hell are you? And who would call you anyway?!" Sophia whispered to herself. After he left, Sophia rushed to the closet and put on her clothes. She lifted her head and looked at herself in the mirror, suddenly wanting to cover her face. The red mark on her neck made her panic. Sophia pulled up her collar and sighed. Sure enough, there were other red marks on her breasts, stomach, and everywhere else she looked. Damn it! Four years of divorce, and he hadn't learned a thing. Instead, he learned this? He's very skilled now. Where did he learn all that? Sophia is sure that Aston was not like this before. During their three years of marriage, Aston was always cold to her. And never touched her this way. In the past, even Aston very rarely kissed her during s*x. He would just 'do it' without any foreplay. All he needed was for Sophia to be a place to release his lust. Sophia endured it all because she was naive and loved him. Sophia knew it. He was just marrying her because Aston's grandpa pushed them to. Their marriage felt more like a deal to Aston. And Aston did his husband's duties and took care of her, but he was always distant. They were only intimate when Mr. Ben Howard was around. And after he died, Aston hardly ever came home. And their marriage became colder than ever. Until one afternoon, the day before Christmas, in winter. Kayden was hospitalized with a high fever and convulsions. Sophia had been trying to contact Aston who hadn't been home for several days, and she didn't know where he was, but he never picked up his phone. Kayden, who was only eighteen months old at the time, kept calling for his father. And accidentally while looking at an online news portal, Sophia read the news about her husband having dinner with his ex, Lisa Barrymore. When Aston came home, Sophia didn't even bother asking about it because it wouldn't matter - he wouldn't tell her anything. So, she decided to file for divorce, and Aston said yes without question. Sophia felt he must be happy that she had set him free. She knew she had to get out of her toxic marriage with Aston. Because she didn't want Kayden to suffer like her, so she thought it was better for her son to grow up without a father than to be stuck in an unhappy home. *** After changing, Sophia walked out of the bedroom and down the stairs. "Morning, ma'am..." The maid stood at the bottom and looked at her nervously. Sophia lifted her head and looked down. "The young master has informed me that he has asked the driver to take you home."
