Push And Pull

1556 Words
Zane’s POV “I don't care what time it is, and I'm sure as hell not going anywhere with you, asshole,” she hissed at me. Sabrina dug her heels into the floor, the short chain between our wrists snapping taut as she refused to move another inch. The sheer strength in that small frame surprised me. She still didn’t have a wolf…I could tell that much…and yet she was matching my pull like she had every right to. Damn. It was one of the hottest things I've ever seen. Filthy hot in a way that had me swallowing hard. I exhaled and stopped trying to drag her toward the door. “Grandmother, can you give us a moment?” I demanded quietly. “I need to give Sabrina here…a little orientation.” I never once looked away from the furious woman cuffed to me even while I spoke. Silence. “Grandma?” I called sharper this time and finally turned towards her. She was still sitting on the edge of the bed, staring blankly at nothing ahead. Come to think of it, she had been acting quite strange for days. I had waved it off as an old-people thing. But seeing her now…could something be wrong with her? Is she sick? Concern flickered hard in my chest as I started toward her, and the cuff naturally yanked Sabrina along with me. Before we could reach her, Grandmother stood up abruptly and both of us froze. Her eyes were distant, somewhere far away, as she turned and walked toward the door without another glance at us. “Take care of my little Sab for me, Azrael,” she said softly, and then she was gone. She called me Azrael? Not Zane…but my middle name? Something is definitely wrong. I filed the worry away for later. Right now I have a far more pressing problem. “Nana, don't leave me with this monster! Let me go!” Sabrina squirmed hard beside me, trying to wrench her wrist free. My focus snapped back to her completely. “Stop struggling, Sabrina…” your thigh rubbing is literally rubbing against my d**k and it's driving me insane. But I didn't say that last part out loud. I groaned the words as I took both of her hands…cuffed wrist included…and pinned them above her head against the wall in one smooth motion. My body followed, crowding her until there was nowhere left for her to go as the chain rattled between us. Her chest rose and fell fast against mine and heat poured off her skin making Scar purr like an animal in heat. I felt an overwhelming urge to strip her bare and lose myself in her, even though some part of me was convinced I had no right to want her that way. The mate bond was becoming unbearable with her so close, made worse by the truth I had kept hidden for so long. I had never been with a woman. Not once. All those rumors Lyria had spread about us sleeping together, all those times I had allowed her to sit on my lap or kissed her just to get under Sabrina’s skin, had been nothing more than a performance. I had let everyone believe I was the man my father expected me to be, using Lyria and the rumors surrounding us to build a reputation I never actually lived. But now, with Sabrina this close, I've never craved anything else like I crave having her. When I looked at Sab… All I could see in her eyes, all I could smell on her, was pure disgust and hatred. It should have stopped me. But it didn’t. “You look good like this,” I murmured, voice low and rough. “Pinned beneath me… Breathing hard while trying so damn hard not to feel me.” “Get the f**k off me,” she snarled, fiery eyes locked on mine. “Or I swear I’ll bite your throat out the second you lean any closer.” I smiled, slow and deliberate. “Promise? Because I’d let you. I’d let you sink those pretty teeth into me just so I could feel how much you still want to hurt me.” “I want to kill you, asshole. Not play with you,” she hissed. “Same thing, little Sab.” I leaned in until my breath brushed her cheek. “Hate me all you want. Spit at me, scratch me, but you can’t deny what we are. You’re mine. The bond is still there…alive, burning, waiting. You feel it any time I get this close, don't you?” She twisted hard, trying to knee me, trying to shove me back with pure fury. “Go f**k yourself and that useless bond. In case you haven’t figured it out yet… I’m wolfless. Your precious mate pull doesn’t affect me as much. Not one bit,” she replied furiously. I smirked. “Is that so?” I buried my face in the side of her neck before she could answer. My teeth grazed the sensitive spot just below her ear, then I sucked softly, deliberately, tasting the salt of her skin and she went rigid. “So when I do this,” I whispered against her pulse, “it doesn’t affect you? You don’t feel anything at all?” The tiniest tremor ran through her body, but she tried to hide it and failed. I smiled against her throat in satisfaction at the reaction. “Get away from me,” she growled, voice shaking with rage. “You could strip naked right here and I wouldn’t even spare you a glance, Alpha Zane. What do you possibly have that I've not seen? You think you compare to my fiancé?” Anger slammed through me so hard my vision edged red. She has seen him naked? That human brat again. Did he touch her? Does she think he's bigger than me? I almost stripped just to prove her wrong. Just to show her that he has nothing compared to what I'm carrying. Almost. “Don’t push me, Sab,” I growled the warning and pressed my mouth to the corner of hers. She jerked her head away like my lips burned but I didn't pull away. “You have no idea what I can do for you right now. You have no idea how far I can go just for you,” I said against her skin. “Then go kill yourself,” she whispered, cold and clear, glaring straight into my eyes without any flicker. “I want you to die!” There were no regrets, no warmth…just pure, honest desire for my death. It hurt more than I wanted to admit. I shoved the pain behind the taunting mask and smiled instead. “Anything but that. Why die when I can live right next to you?” Her free leg shot up again, aiming straight for my c**k. I caught the movement in time, pinned both of her legs with mine, and locked us together in an awkward, filthy position that had every inch of me pressed against every inch of her. Oh, and I enjoyed it far more than she did. “I hate you,” she spat, breathing hard. “You think you get to make me feel anything just because the Moon Goddess made a little mistake pairing us together? Over my dead body. And because I hate you, I… Sabrina Quinn rejects…” I crashed my mouth over hers before the last word could leave her tongue. She fought like a wild thing. Teeth sank into my lower lip hard enough to draw blood. The metallic taste flooded both of us. I didn’t pull back, instead I took hold of the opportunity to push into her mouth. I kissed her through the struggling, through the biting, through every furious sound she made against my mouth. What was a little blood compared to everything I had already done to her? The kiss must have lasted an eternity for her, but it was only seconds for me. When I finally tore my mouth away we were both breathing like we had run for miles. My lips throbbed as I licked the sting and felt nothing but sparks and dark excitement. “You can’t reject me, Sabrina,” I whispered, resting my forehead against hers. She shoved at my chest with everything she had. “I will and I reject…” “Tyler is alive.” The words left my mouth sharp and final as I noticed her going cold. Confusion, disbelief, and something painfully fragile crossed her face all at once. “What did you just say?” Her voice came out small…broken and almost defeated. I hated myself for the look in her eyes, but I didn’t take it back. “Except you don’t care if your brother is truly alive or not… then go ahead, Sab. Reject me. And you won’t ever get to see him.” I whispered the threat close to her mouth, watching her struggle to make sense of it, watching the hope, anger and the horror wage war behind those beautiful, furious eyes. As long as it kept her beside me… I didn’t mind being the villain in her story.
