Sophia folded the scroll slowly. “They’re escalating.”
Remi nodded. “And they want us to investigate. The Council’s sending a team to meet with you and Alpha Felix.”
Sophia turned her eyes to the horizon. “We’ll meet them. But this is bigger than missing stones. Someone is preparing for something.”
“You think it’s connected to the Moonstone?” Remi asked.
“I think,” she said slowly, “that the Moonstone was just the beginning.”
Her voice dropped as she added, “And I think it’s time we bring Ethan in.”
Remi looked alarmed. “Do you trust him again?”
