The silence in the corridor deepened as Felix stepped into view. His cloak trailed behind him like shadowed authority, his boots making no rush, no thunder. He wasn’t angry—at least not outwardly. He didn’t let rage guide him where questions were needed first. As Felix passed, Clara moved aside, bowed swiftly and looked to the floor out of respect.
