ZERA’s mind went blank when she read the message. She was confused. Wasn’t he fine? Did Elix say he defeated those hunters and escaped? Why did Gaiden sound like Kin was on the verge of death now?
One thing she was sure of.
Kin was in danger!
“I’m going there,” she declared immediately.
She had to be there. Maybe her spells could save him! Even if not, she would find a way to save him!
She turned to Cara and grabbed her shoulder.
“Please, take me there!” she screamed frantically.
“I know, I know. But I can’t just leave the pub with this many customers. I will ask my neighbor to come over first and watch over the shop while I’m gone.”
Cara’s fingers were trembling as she constructed a message to her neighbor and a reply to her husband.
