Lilly’s POV

“Congratulations Lilly!” Miles says to me 

“Thank you! I was quite surprised.” I say back to him 

“Don’t be, you have kept up with them and go to school at the same time. This was meant to happen since things have run smoother in the executive office since you’ve came.” he says to me 

“Talking about school, when do you graduate college?” he asks 

“College?” I ask him 

“Yes that's where you are going to school right?” he asks 

“Oh well yes definitely to school. In a few years. Still have much to learn.” I say back to him 

“Nice! And after I assume you will stay here?” he asks 

“For now yes.” I say back to him 

“Good. Then if you need me I am across the hall. I heard you will need to get a team together soon.” he asks 

“Yes! And of course I will let you know. You’re the man for support technically so I will need you.” I say back to him

“Just what I wanted to hear! Let's wrap this up after the holidays and get a good bonus for next year.” he says back to me 

“Agreed!” I say back to him while I go to my desk 

I went and hung out with Skylar this past weekend and had so much fun. He reminds me so much of Jack but a lot more humble. Since then I have hung out with him and Jordan every other weekend. Jack asked me to go to the Winter formal and I said yes. I hope things get better for me. Things are starting to settle down and I am finally getting the hang of my new life here. Life is just beautiful. 

Work has been hectic! I have been non stop busting my ass and every person I see here has been giving me the dirtiest of looks. I wonder if those rumors were spread?  Maybe that’s why they are looking at me like that? I have a team of 6 and all of us have been working hard to make this project a success. 

I hope that I will be a great leader for them and I hope that we can make this project a success. I know this is an important one, but I feel like it is more than just a project for us and the company.

“Lilly! Are you here already?” Mrs. Wyatt asks

“Yes I am here. I’ll set the table” I say to her  

“Okay and then we can have dinner.” she says to me 

“Sounds good.” I say back to her 

Mrs.Wyatt has been my rock hard foundation since moving here. She knows about my past since I accidentally drank Zack’s drink and didn’t realize there was alcohol in it. I spilled everything out to her that night. Since then she has been extremely more kind and understanding and has treated me like family. I have been going to her house weekly and the Wyatt brothers have also joined plenty of times too. 

Lately they have been overprotective with me. It’s so strange. I’ve been noticing a few weird things too. She has such a huge house but only her living there. I mean they have a lot of money but still. I don’t know why she needs to run a bookstore when their family is loaded. And I see a lot of strange people come in and out of the house. OMG! What if they are drug dealers and use the bookstore as a cover up or something? 

Wait no! That can’t be because she is too nice.  

“You know these boys, I have watched them since they were babies. They are my husband's nephews. Strong boys fighting for a chance to redeem themselves.” she says to me  

“Redeem themselves?” I ask her 

“Yes. A long time ago their parents were in a difficult situation. They were stuck at the wrong time in the wrong place. There was an argument between other um groups of people and because of that they went to help out. In the end because of that, they were both killed during the argument and left both boys alone.” she says to me 

“How awful.” I say to her 

“It’s been 5 years and since then both boys have worked their butts off trying to make things right for the group that their parents stood for. They lost a lot. Not only their parents but their home and friends and family too. They all had to move away and the boys stayed with me and my husband.” she says to me 

I give her a look and she already knows what I am going to ask 

“My husband was their dad's brother. He was a powerful person, but not with strength more in mind. He provided everything for the boys. Since they were young all assets came to me and my husband. We raised the boys to the best that we could and they are who they are now.” she says to me 

“Now my husband was a great soul. He loved us so much. But the thing about their family is when one of them goes it’s hard for them to forget. They love each other so much. So he left to seek revenge and since then I have not seen him.” she says to me 

“Have you tried looking for him?” I ask 

“Yes of course, but we have searched for years and still nothing. I know that he is alive and I hope he finds his way home soon.” she says 

“I am so sorry Mrs,Wyatt. I wish we could find him for you.” I say to her 

“Don’t worry about it and call me Donna.” she says back to me 

“Stop calling me that, I told you it makes me feel old and you know I am not old.” she says to me 

“I know it just sounds better since you were my boss and.. “ I say to her 

“And what? You are family now! Stop being so uptight.” she says to me 

“Fine I won’t!” I say back to her 

“Let's eat, I am hungry!” she says to me 

“Fine fine!” I say back to her while we eat dinner and talk about her past more 

I feel like there is more to be said but I’ll just wait till she is ready to tell me.
