Memories

Mar’s POV

“How do I know you?” I ask the girl 

“Don’t worry I am not going to harm you. I was sent to guide you if things got bad.” she says back to me 

“So are things bad?” I ask 

“No they are perfect! Now we can go home.” she says to me 

“Home?” I ask 

“Yes you found who we have been looking for. It’s time to go back home but we have to wait for the boss to give us the word.” she says to me

“And who is that?” I ask 

“Why it’s Paris!” she says back to me

“You will not take her.” I say back to her 

“You were sent to get her remember?” she asks me

I look at her questioning everything about her. 

“You already recognize me and just don’t remember. You have a scar on your back and a scar behind your left ear. We have trained for years together and you are not human. You’re a vampire. If you would like, I will give you back your memories.” she says to me 

“Why were my memories taken in the first place?” I ask her

“Boss thought it would get the job done faster and it looks like it worked!” she says back to me

“Who is this boss?” I ask her

“Enough with all the questions. I will give you the answers. You ready?” she asks me

“For what?” I ask her back 

She walks towards me and grabs my palm and says something to it and places it on my forehead. I immediately close my eyes and wake up from a slumber.

“What took you so long, Keyome?” I ask her 

“I ran into a bit of a mess before finding you guys.” she says back to me 

“Update me on everything. It’s a bit scrambled.” I tell her 

“You found Paris and the boss is ready for us to come back, but on her own terms.” she says back to me 

“On her own terms. What does that mean?” I ask

“Until she is ready, then we can go.” she says to me 

“I don’t have time for that. We have an empire to run. I can’t babysit anymore. You take care of this. I’m going home to settle things there. I leave you to this.” I say to her

“Are you sure you want to just leave her to me?” she asks 

“Why would I not. I trust you and I know you will get the job done.” I say to her

“If you say so Mars. I will take my leave. I‘ll see you at home.” She says back to me 

Why would she say things like that to me?

“See you at home.” I say back 

“Oh by the way, who was that guy trying to get Paris’s attention at the football game? I mean if it was me, I would think they were a couple.” she says 

Guy? What guy? Wait! He’s a werewolf! I knew he had strength, but not more than me but definitely more than a mere human. Does Paris know? Is Paris okay with non mortals? Would she consider a life with someone who is soulless? Wait! Why am I asking this? 

“So it looks like you are coming now?” Keyome asks 

“I am only coming since I need to make sure Paris is okay before she comes home. Then I am going to go home.” I say to her 

“Yeah I thought so.” she says back to me 

“What does that mean?” I ask 

“I’ve been with you for hundreds of years, but I have never seen you look at anyone like how you look at her.” she says to me   

Paris’s POV

It’s been a few days now and I’ve been dodging Jack non stop. I don’t know why, but I just don’t want to talk to him. I’ve been just hanging out with Danny and lately Mars has been following us everywhere. He also brought that girl I saw at the game too. Mars finally has gotten his memory back, but he is so rude. 

I feel like he thinks it’s a privilege to be with him or around him.

Flash back to a few days ago ***

“Go home than Mars.” I say to him 

“No I can not. I will wait for you till you are ready to come with me.” he says to me  

“Why would I go back with you? Your memory is back. Now you can go home and live your life. You have been the rudest being since. You say the food that I cook is trash. You say I live in Trash. You say I dress like Trash. If you don’t want to be Trash then go home!” I scream at him

“I am not going till you come with me. That’s final! “ he says to me 

“Mars leave me alone! What have I done for you to be like this? I don’t want to go back with you and I never will. So go home! Keyome talk to him? “ I ask

“No can do.” she says to me and walks off

Keyome has transferred to our school since Mars is too old for school. He won’t leave and never leaves me alone. We’ve been arguing since he got his memory back and to be honest I miss the old Mars and I hate this new one. Keyome also told me that they were vampires and to get used to them being around her since they are not leaving till they know that I will come back with them. 

Flashback end *** 

It’s been hectic since then. Mars now always stays in my apartment and Keyome found a place near me as well. So no matter what I will always have one beside me. It’s irritating. I’ve gone back to working at the diner and I'm still working on trying to move out on my own. I have also decided that Jack will not come with me. He’s been trying his best to give me space, but I can feel him staring behind me always. 

That girl also joined our school. I don’t have any classes with her, but she just has such an eerie aura. It'd be like she doesn’t belong here. I’ve been dreading to think about my relationship with Jack. It’s been on my mind a lot and I’m trying to avoid thinking about it because I am not ready. 

I guess we are not together anymore. He can at least text me that through all the texts and voicemails he’s been leaving. Jack. I wonder how he is doing? Was I being played the whole time? Was he just using me while he was with someone else? I mean I’ve met his family and friends at home so why now?
