AIDEN'S POV
I wasn't the type to visit ceremonies or meetings, but I decided to go to Ryan's mate's chosen ceremony all because of Zoey.
Although there was the existence of Roselyn, the spoiled daughter of the green pack, I decided to put Zoey first.
Somehow it came to my hearing that she'd appear, and so I tried to prepare words to convince her to accept my offer.
But I never expected her to reject me firmly, more so, she ran away without even listening to my side of the story.
I raised my left arm to my hair and ruffled it while I pulled it out of frustration angrily, not bothering to pay attention to the little sneaking figure who ran faster toward the direction Zoey appeared from before Zoey could turn away from me.
I placed the cigarettes away from my lips, frustrated and angry by everything playing out whether it comes to Zoey or my uncle.
I realized that second Uncle Eric was more formidable than I thought. And if I'm not being careful, I would lose my throne to him.
Second Uncle Eric was gathering the elders, warriors, and pack's support faster than I thought he would. And if I couldn't get Zoey to agree to my proposal, I'm likely to fail as he planned.
All I'm hoping for is that those rogues wouldn't appear before I settle matters with Zoey or else it'll make me busy while my uncle continues his scheme.
I snuffed the cigarettes with my fingers and dropped the leftovers into the trash can then walked back to the party hall.
I don't know if I'll have a chance to see Zoey, but I hope she'll think about it and come to me soon.
"Alpha Aiden." Roselyn grabbed my hand coquettishly as if she had been waiting for me.
I disliked when people touched me without permission, so I brushed her hand away without a thought. And this time she didn't try to touch me.
I was about to walk over to my arranged seat when I saw a person sneaking over to the party with Zoey. I don't know who that girl is, but I don't trust her. Weird! I never had that suspicious feeling toward Zoey.
"Alpha Aiden, are you yet to find your mate?" Roselyn batted her eyes at me while trying to make that puppy expression, but it only made me disgusted instead of softening my heart.
I knew what Roselyn was about; once I replied to her with 'yes' she'd definitely proposed marriage to me but the last thing I want is marrying a spoiled and untrained brat.
Before I could give her an answer, a loud growl emanated from Ryan's lips which made me look at his side.
"Mate!" He growled and dashed over to the sneaking figure that stood beside Zoey
The girl was an Omega, and she looked shocked and excited at the same time, but she suddenly fled away from the scene. I guess it was too much for her to take.
Since Ryan had found his mate, the party could be said to have come to an end.
Suddenly, a loud shriek was heard, I turned toward Roselyn only to see her clench her fist in anger, trembling.
"Brother won't have anything to do with an omega, not when I’m alive." She yelled loudly and immediately ran out of the hall.
I ignored Roselyn, stood up, and began to walk toward the door. The alpha of the Green pack immediately stood up upon seeing me leave.
I swept a gaze at the bored-looking Zoey, but she quickly turned away as if she was afraid of someone discovering our interaction. I pursed my lips in annoyance, but I knew that I had failed in getting her today again.
I need to make a sufficient plan later.
"Alpha Aiden." The Alpha of the green pack approached me. "Congratulations..."
___.. ZOEY'S POV
It was quite crazy to see the plate looking unwashed. It was still the same way I left the dishes, that was the same way I met them. were placed. Considering the time that I spent in the toilet and the time spent chatting with Alpha Aiden, Cynthia should have been done with this. I raised the question to her, and she replied to me.
"Washing the plates with you is interesting, sorry I had to wait for you." She said softly with a hint of embarrassed red on her cheeks.
"Oh." I nodded, but I felt joyful that someone also enjoyed spending time with me. "I thought you wanted us to quickly wash this plate in order to see your prince?" I began to wash the plates while she started rinsing them.
Soon, l saw her lips parted in a gasp and Cynthia looked at me in shock.
"Wow." Cynthia cried out with eyes widened in disbelief and her lips parted in a gasp. "What?" I asked Cynthia cluelessly.
Cynthia suddenly grabbed my hand and stared down at my hand. "How did you do that?" Cynthia asked me.
"What?" I pulled my hand away from her grasp and continued to wash the plates.
"Washing the plate so fast, I have never seen someone do this before. You were so fast and incredible." She uttered, which made me smile happily.
Being with Cynthia is amazing. It felt right as if we had been friends forever. I think I made the right decision to come over or else I wouldn't have known her.
"When you are used to it, it feels natural," I uttered with a shrug. Damn. Did I just shrug?
"I guess your position falls lower too." She suddenly said, which made me turn to her in disbelief.
Although I didn't ask any questions, I think my expression perhaps screamed 'How did you know' loudly because she replied to me in a few seconds.
"It could be seen in your clothes. It's..." Although she didn't complete it, I knew what she wanted to say.
"Dirty and worn out, right?" I asked softly, which made her nod.
By now we are done washing the plates which made Cynthia smile and grabbed my hand, repeatedly saying 'Thank you. Thank you.'
She was such a sweet omega, I couldn't fathom how people hate her, and before I knew it, I proposed to help her clean the kitchen. She was so happy and smiling wildly.
"You know, I never thought I'd be seeing Prince Ryan today, it's all thanks to you that my dream is becoming a reality," Cynthia said as we sneaked toward the party.
Cynthia doesn't want anyone to notice her presence the same as my choice. This bond was crazy between us; we just had a level of understanding of ourselves even though we had just met.
"Mate."
