Episode 1

1890 Words
She woke up this morning feeling so tired. She could feel that there are some changes in her body, but she just doesn’t know what it was. Her name is “Sky” short for Scarlett Rose Wilson-Thomas. Yes, she is married--to a man she met three years ago. For the past three years of her life she was happy. Everything seems to be perfect. She loves the man so much. Their wedding was a spur-of the-moment thing. It was unexpected. It started with a bet and soon became a real thing. Three years ago… Sky was spending her New Year’s Eve in Bellagio, a triple A, Five Diamond Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. This was the only New Year she spent without her family. It was one of her goals to spend her New Year in the said hotel once she’s 25 years old. She was drinking her expensive Red wine, Leroy Musigny Grand Cru, while she’s watching couples dancing at the middle of the dance floor wearing their tux and elegant gowns. She doesn’t want to mingle with anyone although almost half of the men on that party had tried to ask if they could dance with her, but she politely declined. She never planned on meeting someone on that place it was totally an ‘alone’ time for herself. She owns a coffee shop. Her family’s business is coffee. They own a coffee plantation. They cultivate coffee plants, roast the seeds, and sold it to large companies for brewing. So, she decided to open her own small coffee shop in her neighborhood. She doesn’t live with her parents anymore. She lives in a peaceful town where all people are kind, generous and very hospitable. She had researched about that place before she decided to live there. Nobody knows where she was from, but they accepted her with open arms. She’s tired of living a life where all people are looking up to her, looking after her. She just wanted to live a peaceful life where people treat her equally and without any special treatment. “Hi,” she looked at the man who just greeted her. The guy is wearing an Alexander Amosu suit. The suit is made from two of the most expensive wools in the world, Qivuik and rare Vicuna. It has nine buttons of 18-carat gold and diamonds. She’s familiar with suits made by famous designers because her brother likes to collect expensive suits. And boy, that suit is worth a fortune! She just nods on the guy to acknowledge his greeting. She took a sip on her wine, ignoring the man. Making him feel that she’s not interested in having a conversation with him. She thought he will walk away but to her dismay, he just stood there and put his hands inside his pocket. “I know you’re not interested but please let me stay here for a bit.” The man said while giving a quick look at the group of ladies who were looking at them. She noticed that the girls are giving her a weird look from head to toe like they were scrutinizing her. She just shrugged it off. She’s already used to girls’ envious looks. He looked at her and moved a bit closer to make the girls think that he’s ‘taken.’ She chuckled and crossed her arm on her chest. “If you don’t like to be with them, you can simply say ‘no’ why do you have to use a ‘prop’?” she said—talking about her. The guy smiled, “Well, that’s not the only reason why I’m here.” Looking at her with mischief in his eyes. Zachary Thomas III was trying to get rid of the ladies who has been ogling him ever since he arrived. He had a bet with his best friend, Anthony while playing 8-ball last night and he lost. The bet was whoever lose should attend this ‘ball’ and find the most beautiful girl on the party and hook up with her for two weeks.   He never had a serious relationship. His relationships only last for a month. As much as he wanted to be in a serious relationship, girls are getting too attached and obsessed. Every time he’s in a relationship, his girlfriends would visit his office and fuss over his secretary being too sexy or pretty. They always make a fuss about everything and everyone and it’s getting into his nerves. He may be playful at times but he’s always serious when it comes to his work. He doesn’t want to mix business with pleasure. Everyone who works for him knows that fact. He doesn’t date anyone in the office. He doesn’t show any malicious interest with his employees nor clients no matter how pretty or seductive they are. So now, he will only hook up with girls for a night—no strings attached. While looking for a perfect chance to get rid of the ladies, he noticed this woman. This woman is notable for her fantastic curve and lush black hair. She is wearing a stunning draping dress featuring a sensual classic look. The gorgeously designed dress is elevated with modified v-neckline and high slit. He didn’t know that her eyes would be this beautiful on close. He thought her best feature would be her face, nose, lips, or her lush black hair but when he got close to her, this was the only moment he noticed her eyes. An incredible bright blue, they’re almost hypnotic with how bright they are, captivating and easily dominate her face. He was captured right there and then.   “Look, Mister—” “Marry me.” He said impulsively cutting her off. She gave him this weird look. “What—” “Just kidding,” he said backing out from what he said moments ago. He is smiling at her with his perfect white teeth. She noticed that this man has a pair of deep dark brown eyes with long eyelashes and a prominent nose giving him this king-like aura. His wavy hair was properly brushed up. She could see his cute dimple on his left cheek when he smiles. and his lips… it looks so soft and seemed to be inviting her to kiss him. She opened her mouth a bit as if stunned.    Sky shook her head. She must be drunk for her to think that his lips are inviting her to kiss him. “Why is a beautiful woman like you, alone in this kind of place?” She knotted her forehead while looking at him “Seriously? You’re going to use that line?” He waved his hands in front of him “Oh no no! that’s not what I meant.” He laughed. “I’m just curious. Honestly, you’re gorgeous and it’s too unusual for a beautiful woman to go to this place. Alone. Come on, you know what I mean.” She curved a smile on her lips. He looked cute trying to explain what he meant without making her feel offended. “The same applies to you. It’s unusual to see a fisherman to release the fishes they caught into the ocean.” She said metaphorically. The man laughed. “I’m Zach by the way.” He introduced himself extending his arm for a handshake. She took his hand. “Sky” He firmly held her hand before he let it go. She looked at her watch on her wrist. It’s 11 o’clock in the evening. She looked at her wine. It’s almost empty. “When are you leaving?” “Tomorrow.” She doesn’t know if it was just her imagination, but she noticed a slight dismay in his eyes which quickly went away when he suddenly thought of an idea. “Since you’re leaving tomorrow, why don’t we hang out for a bit?” She thought about it for a few seconds and nodded. She realized that it would be a big regret for her if she would go back to her room early without doing anything crazy tonight. She’s going back home after all she might as well spend her last night with an interesting man. They left the hotel. He droved his car and stopped by a convenience store. They bought some snacks and beers. His car was a pickup truck—Ford F-150. He parked his car in an overlooking place. It was a high place where you can see the sky and the city lights. The view was breath taking! They sat at the back of his pickup truck. He removed his coat and put it on her when he noticed she was feeling cold. They were talking about each other’s life. They really felt like there’s a connection between them. She felt so free and safe with him. She smiled and looked at him as he was talking about his bet with his friend. “Oh, that’s why.” She commented without finishing her sentence. “That’s why what?” he asked curiously? “You brought a pickup truck to a Ball!” she answered while laughing. “You already planned on bringing a girl here.” “Did it ever occur to you that this was my only car?” She shrugged her shoulder. “I don’t know.” She laughed. Knowing he was wearing one of the most expensive suits in the world and that he was invited to attend that ball. She knew he was not a simple man. They drank all the beer they bought. They were laughing and talking about crazy stuff all night. They really had a good time. She suddenly stopped laughing when she noticed him looking at her seriously. He was looking deep in her eyes. She looked at him too then she looked at his lips. There it is again. That feeling like it was inviting her to kiss him. He slowly moves his face closer to her. She didn’t move at all. She was anticipating what he will do next. Then his lips landed on hers slowly and firmly. She knew it would happen, but she still felt a bit surprised when his lips touched hers. There was a tingling sensation the moment their lips touched. They were in that position for a few seconds. He was testing her if she would push him, but she didn’t, so he started moving his lips. She was kissing him back. They were both out of breath when they let go. “Marry me.” He said. She didn’t know why she nodded. She was still enchanted with the kiss not to mention the alcohol in her system.
