Within moments, Aero took over, shifting mid-jump and landing softly next to Danielle. Nothing mattered more than protecting his mate. Quickly scanning the trees, he smelled three rogues close by.

“Aero?” the beta mind-linked back, confused.
Patrick hadn’t been sure how it happened, but throughout their years together, Aero had learned to mind-link with the pack’s human counterparts. Though it wasn’t completely unheard of, it was rare enough to cause interest from others. It still jarred the pack members when it happened. Hearing another wolf’s voice in their head was usually cause for concern.
