Patrick. The words washed over him. He felt a lightness that he’d never felt before. A lightness that he never imagined he could feel. Nothing else mattered in that moment than her words. Her confession. Her profession of love for him. Patrick had prepared himself for the worst. He had readied his heart to never find his mate in the first place. He had come to terms with the reality that he may not get to experience the completeness that all wolves longed for when finding their true other half.
