They came out of the blue!
Something went wrong with my intel. Suddenly there were dogs barking and voices screaming from the village.
It was after dinner I was sitting in my office in the pack house, the twilight made the world outside the window seem so small.
So without warning, a guard at our border broke into my head via mindlink. Soldiers crossed our borders from all directions, the huntsmen were in the village and went from house to house.
Before I could reply to any link, my father broke in.
"Pete, get the women to safety!" I got up and ran to the door and ripped it open. Miranda and Katrine were already on their way down the back stairs, my mother and Shelia on their way to my office.
