The days went by, turned into weeks and then months.
The twins grew and Maria thrives as a mother. Preparations to split our pack and for our part, move north really took off.
I knew Hyde was looking forward to starting a new chapter with me and with Pete as his new Alpha. But I could also see that he would miss Maria, Max and especially the twins. I did not know how to behave around him, I did not want him to perceive my sympathy as anything but a loving support from his mate. I was afraid if I brought it up, he would immediately perceive it as a reproach, that part of him would like to stay with them, rather than accompany me and my son.
