Sam switches the sign in the window to read ’closed’ and turns the lock.
“Alright, girls get on home. I will clean this up.” He says grinning.
“Thanks, Sam. See you tomorrow.” Talia says as they both reach the time clock. They punch their card, and place their aprons on the hook beside it. Grabbing their backpacks they head out of the back door, usually only the cook uses.
“I’ll see you in the morning, Kat.” Talia says as they walk the short alley.
As they part ways, Katarina turns the corner and walks toward her house, and Talia walks toward the road leading to the pack land. She smells chocolate and coffee. Suddenly a hand grabs hers causing her to feel her skin come alive with gentle electricity.
Seline jumps around in her head, practically singing, “mate…mate…mate!”
